Need a recommendation for a hotel in Buenos Aires

Post by valden »

I am going on a  cruise in S. America in March and will be staying in Buenos Aires for four nights before the cruise. Has anyone been there and does anyone know of a good hotel and restaurants. They do have a casino there so maybe I will try my luck there. I love going to casinos in different parts of the world.  Valerie

Just for kicks I Googled Buenos Aires. They have one Marriott there and a bunch of Hostels, Boarding rooms and the featured Hotel said the rooms were tiny with no windows but the common area was nice? I could not find any reference to a Casino.
There are postings at various sites on what to do there, night life etc.
Have fun!

I was looking at Hilton's website and it said it was next door to a Casino. They said the name but I can't recall. There are lots of hotels and I have been on all of the websites. I will find something..... I am a travel agent and hopefully I can get a travel agent rate. The bigger hotels aren't that forthcoming with discounts though. Trying to keep my costs down but don't want to stay in a dump either.  Perhaps I will just bid one on Priceline. I have gotten great deals on that site. I actually got the Venetian for 109.00

Did a search of casinos in Argentina and it seems that there are quite a few there. One only in B. Aires. Definitely will go there and drop a few pesos. One peso is equal to .32 cents US. Now that's a country you want to gamble in. Especially roulette....Valerie

wow Valerie, sounds like a neat vacation(unless ur doing business). Roulette is such a terrible game to play because of the odds favoring the house. How about a nice game of baccarat?

Someday, I will learn that game. I must admit, it looks intimidating and I don't intimidate easily.

Bon voyage, Valerie,  Cruise ships are notorious for being the worst place to gamble - usually older machines and no regulations any where on the open seas! However, on a three night cruise to Naussau, a sweet ten of diamonds completed my royal flush and that paid for the cruise! Everyone seemed stunned as though that never happened before on that ship and perhaps that is true. A gal I knew won $3000 playing bingo on that ship. Win lots!

It's much easier than it looks unless you don't care for table games and the house edge is very small similar to 21 and craps around 2% or less. Roulette, Big 6 wheel and Keno have some of the highest house advantages. Only blessing in keno's favor is it's a SLOOOOOOW game.

I know what you mean about cruises but I was on a cruise in November and won 600.00 on BP and my friend won 750.00 on deuces wild. Hit deuces 3x in a 7 night cruise. Another person in our party won 550 on a slot machine. But I have been on many cruises and won only on three. Actually I did hit a royal on one but was down to my last three quarters so I didn't win the full boat. I am sure we all have those kind of stories.
