The RNG just constantly runs through the combinations. There is no "cycle " in it. If there were,  it wouldn't be random. The amount of combinations depends on the amount of reels and the "stops" on them. Basically if you took a RNG with 10,0000 combinations in it, and took 1 minute to scan all the combinations (they scan it in less than that) If you hit the "spin" button exactly to the nanosecond evey minute, the result would always be different.

I agree with most of what you stated. However, I personally doubt that slot machine RNGs run though any combinations of results. It is much simpler to use a standard RNG that CYCLEs through many numbers and map those numbers into the possible results (combinations).

Contrary to what you stated this would be random. This could also be achieved in other ways but they would be more complex and subject to errors.

In addition, A typical RNG number would probably take about 5 microseconds to generate on a 200 Mhz machine (that's what my cell phone has). This means that around 200K numbers would be available every second.

Yet MORE RANDOMNESS..

Can someone explain why in the multi-hand games, after discard, the SAME EXACT card appears more than coincidence in each hand after the draw.  I can't even figure the odds of that happening.

EXAMPLE  triple play..hold on bottom hand 3h, 6h, 8h, kh, and draw a 4s in EACH of the three hands.

This has happened to me more times than I can count.

I can't say I've experienced that a single time, ever.  Has anyone else seen this tendency?

I have not.  I would remember.  However, I do not play multi-line very often.  In single line machines, I know it is very easy, during the speed of the game, to discard one card and draw another of the same rank but of a different suit in the same color!  When I first started playing in the casinos, I thought I was drawing the same card I'd just gotten rid of!  I'm afraid that if that actually DID happen, I'd put a fist throught the display

While this is certainly an unusual event, it's not as unlikely as it might first seem. Since the first card can be any card in the reamining deck, matching that card should occur an average of once every 47*47 hands (2209). More often than being dealt 4 to a RF. If you are seeing this occur more often than this (over hundreds of thousands of dealt hands) I would question the randomness of the machines
