Best trip: Meeting up with a slew of people who are Joe Walsh freaks at an Eagles Concert at MGM Grand in either 2003 or 2004. Talk about a 24/7 party! Hell with the gambling on that trip!Worst trip: Failing to hook up with one of the members on the site here the week after Christmas 2007 and then finding out later that we were both in the same Casino playing at the same time! That SUCKED!Best Win: Blackjack playing with a high count and a $50 bet. Split 9's against a dealer 9 and ended up splitting to 4 hands with doubles on two of them and won all 4 hands. $250.00. (Plaza)Worse Loss: Blackjack playing two hands with $100 on each hand. Doubled one with an 11 on a mediocre count and had 14 on the other with the dealer showing a 4. Lost both when the dealer hit 21 with 7 cards! (Damned Plaza....this was back when at the Plaza, dealers stood on soft 17 and they pitched a double deck game). The best win and worse loss occurred during the same trip. It was about then that I seriously started thinking about switching to $.05 VP and just playing for the hell of it and not to have winning be a necessity. Ulcers are much better now and there is no way short of staying home to have a good cheap vacation than camping out in Vegas!

Nope left the card. Also left the money clip and the playboy magazine.
Alot of people hide valuables between the mattress and under the bed. This is the first place a crook looks.

I was just wondering if you were speaking from experience or profession.

I am in the oil biz.
Just common sense the a crook would look between mattress in a hotel room. Not to many secret places in a small room.

Oil biz, did you say? Well, it takes a big man to admit he is a ........! Just kidding, OE. Have a story - not sure what category. Found a scratch off at one of the Station casinos on Rancho that hadn't been scratched. Said win up to $10000. I started scratching and the first 2 were 10000. Isn't that the way it always works? Next 3 were duds, but the final one was another 10000.Too good to be true? On the back it said to redeem mail to Dreamland, USA. The sucker looked just like a real one, very professionally done exceptit was perforated on all edges. In the fine print it also thanked me for being a good sport.

re clwn2: You have the right idea about remaining calm when a royal hits. The less others around you know about your jackpot, the better. Once at Mirage, I hit two hand pays in rapid succession requiring W2Gs. After the second, an employee remarked about my two hits. I had never even noticed him in the area but he was close enough to notice my wins. A gal at Greektown exploded when she won $10,000 playing 10 play DDB $1., dealt quad aces. Everyone in the room knew about her big win. Wonder if she had body guards when leaving.

Marie
Hit big at Windsor (On the Boat) one night. Had an Security escort to the car. man his face lit up when I gave him a $20. Made sure no one followed and just sweated the border.
Edit: I just remembered that we used to get paid with $1000 bills. Holding a bunch of them was a lot of fun.

Yo Faygo, Congrats - on win and border crossing! Mark Pilarski has interesting Q & A column re gambling, weekly in PLAY section, same page, adjacent to "What's Happening at the Casinos", meaning the four in the Detroit-Windsor area. PLAY is a section that arrives in FREEP (The Detroit Free Press, WWW.FREEP.COM Better site: www.freep.com/pilarski for more Q & A and more recent FREEP stories re gambling and casinos. Mark Pilarski is creator of "Hooked on Winning" audiocassette series on casino gambling. Recent story elsewhere re Windsor Casino mentioned 80% of their players are American. Business down due to border waits, exchange rate on par and recent renovations to Detroit casinos making them more attractive than previously. We are still going to get a free river view room (as opposed to city scape, i.e. rooftops), buffet on comps, and pick up $30 mailed offer at kiosk on my b'day and use their great pool. ALSO: Double cash backs Feb. 4- March 17. We really enjoy watching freighters, ice floes, etc pass by on the river. Detroit skyline looks great from 17th floor of Windsor casino!
