Re: casino junket flights

Well, our Laughlin junket turned out pretty much the same way as most of our recent trips to Nevada. One loser - me, and one winner more or less covering my losses - my wife. I finished down about $1200, while she came home at plus $3500.

Her big hits were eerily similar to last autumn in Reno, where she was dealt four aces while playing 50 line 5c super aces for a $5000 payout. This time, playing $1 single line super aces at the Tropicana and after several whiffs drawing to three of them, she exclaimed: "Oh my god - they were dealt". And, sure enough there were all four of them for a $2000 payoff. And then later, for good measure, drawing to three, she connected, for another $2000. Add in a later $1000 royal playing bonus poker at Aquarius, and she was pretty happy (as was I).

A strange thing about the super aces hits is that we were not intending to play that game at all. Our game of choice at Tropicana is multiline 50c bonus poker. But, there are only two machines with that game, and they were occupied, so we played the single line dollars, instead.

We had a bit of a surprise on our trip from Buffalo to Laughlin (actually, Bullhead City, AZ.). Normally it's non stop, and takes about 5 hours. This time, once we were all boarded, we were told we would be stopping in Pittsburgh for fuel. Of course, our initial reaction was: what the hell? - is Buffalo out of fuel, or is it cheaper in Pittsburgh? However, the real reason was a pretty legitimate one. Buffalo's longest runway was out of service for repairs, and their second longest one is insufficient for a fully loaded, fully fuelled, 737-800 to take off. Hence, a departure with less fuel, and fuel top up at Pittsburgh. That did add about 45 minutes to the already long trip, and made it pretty late by the time we went to bed.

Glad you came home, as a couple, ahead. Next trip hopefully both of you will have positive results.

I've got a flight to Biloxi end of this month via Caesars.

I guess as long as we come home net winners, with the winner more than covering the losers loss, it's good. Still, I would like to contribute more to our bottom line by having a positive trip for a change. Maybe next time?

Maybe. I'm sure she knows you are doing your best. In the meantime would you settle for a smaller loss than her with an overall modest loss? That way you are contributing less to the deficit, which in the long run is the same thing.
Or can you live with a bigger loss but with more free play/comps earned?
Your day will come but until then it is a test of patience and fortitude.

Good luck!

Onemoretry, I get it, but take the net collaborative win and run! My wife and I have a friendly rivalry as to individual results, but in the end all that matters is our net, which if a net win, goes home in one car :-). Good luck, it’ll happen, but as TripleTriple said, “…until then it is a test of patience and fortitude.”

Caesars Rewards Air looks very interesting. I am not usually a huge Caesars Properties player, but they usually have some playable games, at least at Harrah's Kansas City or Harrah's Gulf Coast in Biloxi MS.
