Well, the trip turned out financially OK for me, but for my wife it was an absolute disaster. Thanks to $10,000 in royals (4 at 50c, and 2 at 25c), I ended the trip ahead by about $4300. She, on the other hand, with just one 25c royal, was down just over $7000. On most of our casino trips of late, she has outperformed me, but this one was certainly the other way around. We each did have a few smaller 5c royals, as well.

As I indicated previously, we started our Vegas stay on the Strip with two nights at a Caesars property, the Cromwell. We played minimally while there, since the video poker offerings there are, in a word, terrible. In order to not throw a complete shutout at them, we did play a small amount of (I'm almost ashamed to say it) 6/5 bonus poker at Paris and the Horseshoe.

Our next stay, at Circa, was for two nights, as well. We really had only one full day to play there, and weren't motivated to play a whole lot. We did play around $4000 each on 8/5 bonus poker, some at 50c at Circa, and some at 25c at Golden Gate.

Our four night stay at the Tropicana in Laughlin started with the crushing $1700 loss on 5 line 50c bonus poker I mentioned in the Bizarro thread. After that, though, things did even out a bit, courtesy of a 25c royal and many sets of deuces playing 10 line 25c deuces wild, and a 50c royal on the 5 line 50c machines. The Tropicana had a 7 times tier credit multiplier on the 14th and 15th, but, unfortunately, we didn't realize you could use it on either of the two days, but not both. And, of course, we used it on the lesser play day of the two. Still, that multiplier, along with the daily tier credit bonuses and the minimal play on the Strip, added up to our current 2024 tier credit total of around 64,300.

At the Four Queens, we played 25c single line 8/5 bonus poker and 9/6 JOB, as well as a lot of 5c 50 line deuces wild bonus. I'm not quite sure why we like that game so much (it's 98.8%), but we do, so we play it. We each had royals on the bonus poker, and, of course, several royals on the 5c machines. Yet, despite my considerable success with one card draws for a royal (4 total on the trip), when I was dealt four to the royal on the 50 line machine, it was a total whiff! We did spend considerable and pleasurable time in the Chicago Brew Pub socializing with people we've met on previous visits.

Our flight back to Buffalo landed pretty much on time, which, considering the poor weather in both Chicago, where we had a layover, and in Buffalo itself, was a pleasant surprise. As was the fact that all of our luggage arrived with us this time.

We stayed at Seneca Niagara for two nights before finally completing the trip home, and I picked off two more 50c royals there. The second one, on the morning of our departure for home, was somewhat of a complete surprise. The session had started off similar to my previous really bad one at the Tropicana, as I was down $800 in what was hardly half an hour. After that, it levelled off a bit, but, still, I had $1200 in the machine when, drawing to a king-jack of clubs, I hit my final royal of the trip!

We don't attend shows very often, anymore. However, my wife was offered comped tickets to one in the Bear's Den at Seneca Niagara, and we decided to go. It was a tribute type band, its leader having the name Elton Rohn. You can probably guess who they were emulating. It was absolutely great - if you ever have the opportunity to see them - do it.

Nice report OMT and, as you pointed out, your wife has ended up better than you a couple times but it all evens out as a couple.

Ditto!!! I will have to watch for the show if it comes to Mohegan. Glad the flight and luggage worked out well too. Nice hit by the way.

Well, we're getting ready to give Nevada another try. Just a short one, though - a four night Caesars junket to Harrahs Laughlin, leaving Buffalo on the 14th, and returning on the 20th. I hope I can do as well as our previous trip and that my wife's fortunes will turn around.

I don't know if it's a good omen, or not, but I've just checked the status of our 2023 US tax returns, and our refunds have been approved, and will be mailed by Feb 16. Yea!

👍 Sounds good all the way around. Enjoy!! Let us know if you have time how things are going. Even on the non gaming stuff.

Minus 2700 or whatever for two people for that many days is a considerable success as far as I'm concerned. Congrats.
