Ran across an article by BD, dated 10/11/22, responding to a reader who was in a bad patch and looking for reasons.
After discussing the usual suspects he mentions the fairness of the machine (to be thorough I guess) he stated the following: ...."First of all those are IGT machines. I trust them. A casino can change the paytable on them, but it can't open up the machine and turn a "tighten up this sucker switch." ".
I wish he would expound on that with any knowledge that I am sure he has.
Are the dealing of the card's truly "secure and encrypted and available to no-one"?
How exactly are video poker machines rigged?

If not, I think it is much more likely that someone would exploit it for personal gain rather than screwing over customers. You could retire quite nicely if you had the ability to do what people are describing here.

Not sure of your meaning Eduardo. I know of nothing to exploit, or any illegal activity by any casino.
Only seeking an answer to a very simple question.

Maybe I am just referring to my own experience. If I play an 8 hour session which is ice cold dud oriented, I am almost guaranteed to bust bankroll and or have to hit the ATM. If the hot cycle is just five minutes long that means I only have a one in 96 chance of hitting the hot cycle in the first five minutes I sit down to play.

Most of us don't even have the discipline to leave when that hot cycle is over, especially if at the top. I now want to go Quad + 10 Hands. I still get out ahead, but play out the cycle a bit more to capitalize on any further warmth. Maybe I adjust my body language to sit on the edge of the seat.

This is where I can't keep up. I can maybe accept the possibility of unnatural hot and cold cycles, but I don't believe they run on an 8 hour clock, sorry.olds442jetaway wrote: ↑Thu Apr 27, 2023 1:10 pmIf I play an 8 hour session which is ice cold dud oriented, I am almost guaranteed to bust bankroll and or have to hit the ATM. 99% in agreement with you dinghy. But maybe they run on some kind of cycle we have not figured out yet. But even if we did it would not be there for long.
Not looking for an edge, personally, just looking for fairness.
Lock that RNG and the deck of 52 away and inaccessible to the devious bastards who own the machine and I am good with it.

The exact cycles I think vary. I was just using the example of what happens to me after 8 hours of bad hands. By the way, I agree with ONT that hitting big and being way ahead wouldn’t mean most of us would hit and run. Would probably be the opposite. Fairness would be fine with me. Absolutely.
