VP on Draftkings and online casino legislation
At Draftkings casino you can play demo versions with play money of video poker and other games even if you don't live in legal state. Speaking of which does your state have online casino legislation in progress? Illinois actually has two bills but both are apparently stuck in some kind of legislative limbo -- very frustrating!

As soon as the politicians figure out the max. tax possible, you will get it in the end.
Easy guess as to which end.

Legislative limbo seems ideal for the politicians because they collect contributions to protect each side of the debate from the other. If the issue is resolved, then the kickbacks stop rolling in.
My state of Nevada is probably in the same boat because we have some existing b&m operators who feel they would benefit from legalization, while others are adamantly opposed.

I'm surprised Nevada -- of all places -- has no online casinos. Yes physical casinos are ubiquitous but methinks they would love their online games in people's homes to make gambling really 24/7.dinghy wrote: ↑Sun Apr 09, 2023 8:33 amLegislative limbo seems ideal for the politicians because they collect contributions to protect each side of the debate from the other. Most likely it's fear of competition. It would be costly to enter the Nevada market with a new b&m casino resort. Online doesn't have the same barriers to entry.
Nevada online sports betting is also dysfunctional. To register an account, you must physically visit a retail outlet. This shuts out big potential operators such as Draftkings and Fanduel.
