The state taxes were taken out - the less to deal with if I had a problem in the pkg lot.

This is something that might vary by locale, but the casinos here in CO will have someone escort you to your vehicle if you ask.  Check on that when you have your next $$$ day.  They might even push the wheelbarrow with the cash for you.

Or maybe one of those gray bins with all of her cash!

Your idea is better than mine.  A bin is deeper, so less of the cash would blow out.  Excellent suggestion.

Thanks everyone for the congrats, valid warnings and tax info! I'm having  fun w 15 min. of alias fame. You ALL would have saved that AKQ but NONE of you would have been on that machine because of the poor pay table! I just wanted to get my feet wet in a casino with STP. The state taxes were taken out - the less to deal with if I had a problem in the pkg lot. No, Faygo, very funny! I had my casino fix for the day and would not have trusted my will power at GT. So grateful I filled up the tank on the way down! The ramp from 94 to I 75 was closed and there was a DETOUR up Woodward to get to I 75 N. I had not known about that detour, it was an easy, well-marked one and no one seemed to be following me. I have seen too many cars off icy expressways during a storm and it's a good time to stay at home. It's always amazing how fast the roads are cleared here after a storm! Let's hear about your next win!

Those detours off of the Interstate always made me nervous. The worse one to navigate was taking the Bridge from Canda and trying to go South on I75. Should I say the 2 miles through that neighborhood to get to the on ramp was ugly. Coming back early in the AM, I used to run the Red Lights and always kept a number of car lenghts between me and any other car around.

way to go marie!!  Hitting a royal with a multiplier is what we all dream about...thanks for keeping the dream alive for us!

maybe it was the night to play "times".  I was playing triple play quarters and on DDB with a 10 multiplier (never happens, I know), I was dealt three nines and picked up the 4th on 2 of the three lines for 2500/line.   I barely made the taxable category but alas it was a hand pay.  No complaints, I left with $1300 in my pocket and a smile on my face!

Nice hit rfonlymama! Felt great didn't it! jmoo2546 also raised a good point. Further, what about the caliber of the person sent as guard, maybe making minimum wage? Could they signal someone else?  Despite the low pay table I'm sure I will try a bill in that same machine another time and I'll also try the machine behind it. Attendant said that machine had hit two jackpots. The ten multiplier did show up twice. Zilch and 50q (JOB). It was a quarter machine but required 60q ($15) per hand.

Marie,       Back in the early 90's when I was young (early 20's) I used to carry around anywhere from $25,000-$40,000 on me to the casinos for blackjack games.  I always used valet parking.  No issues occurred and I never used a security escort.       Now that I know better and I realize that casinos do not have all the money in the world (even though there is the *ILLUSION* of that to many people), I use the $33 trillion stock market these days....no muggers can take you to an alleyway and you only have to watch out for sharpies in pinstriped suits short-selling your stock! ~Benford's LawPS.  Forgot to say....whenever I fiddle around with video poker and I am lucky enough to land a W2G, I always take a check with full Federal and State tax withholding even if I've had a bad income year in other areas of my life that would keep me in a tax bracket low enough to give an interest-free loan to the Gov't.  On average, I only get one or two W2G's a year and I don't think I've ever accepted these "mini-jackpots" in cash ever in my life...always a check..Highest # of W2G's in a year: 4Had NONE for 2006 (middle of two-year streak w/no royals)

Today was fun on this site when a $4000 royal was dealt to me on STP 10X play for $40, 000. no multiplier. Hypothetical situation: So, when I optimistically repeat this STP win in Reno soon, I will have Federal and state taxes removed, two checks for the balance issued and copies made of these checks. IF my bank has no branch in Reno for check deposits asap, I should mail two separate checks home by registered mail, includes delivery confirmation, in first class envelopes.  I have to sign for them upon delivery. Correct? What about insurance? Thank you!                                                   MI weather report: 11 deer just created a deer run in the pristine snow in our back yard. Always a thrill to see them except on or in the road! Skunks are out of hibernation, can spring thaw be far behind? Gal said today how boring it was to experience sunshine in CA all three weeks she spent there. Boredom would be welcome relief here. RFOM YOU are the victor and so far ahead, no way I will catch up with you! I may never get over this dry spell and it is not for lack of trying! Edit:Hold on - how many dealt royals this year?

Marie...congrats on the big wins. I play Reno all the time-only live 35 miles away. The only time I have seen the casinos take out taxes is when you are from out of the country. Good luck when in town.
