Miami will win the Superbowl next year. That is what my people are telling me.
OJ Simpson will be the halftime entertainment.
Patriots or that Other Team?

I heard a story that should appeal to all the gamblers in us. A friend of a friend placed a $100 bet in Vegas before the season started that the Patriots would be undefeated and win the SuperBowl. Last week, the casino offered him 750,000 before the SuperBowl to end the bet, which would have paid 1,200,000 if the Patriots won. HE REFUSED(I guess that was "no Deal"), thinking the Patriots were going to win. I bet he is really depressed today.

Taking into account he only lost his initial $100 bet, he can't be that depressed, however seeing the potential had they won or had he taken the buy-out offer, then it becomes depressing. Unless he took that c-note from some other "necessity" funds,he shouldn't be too bad unless he's a real sourpuss. Faygo, maybe that Fa La La La La.... La la la la fellow ought to be cellmates with O.J, they'd have lots to talk about and could possibly collaborate on a book deal.

What a coincidence, 2 bets placed before the start of the season at $500 each on the Colts or the Patriots going undefeated. He should have taken the deal, the Giants had destiny on thier side. I learned a long time ago about a bird in the hand is better than two in the bush.

He basically bet his 750000 to try to win 450000. Not great odds. I feel for him. Hope he is wealthy. I wonder what he would have had to lay on an outside bet to win 450000?

I agree with you; I would have taken the money and run.

Its hard to believe a $500 bet could turn into $6 million if the Pats win but why take the chance with a sure $3.7 million regardless of the outcome of the game. Where would you run to first if you came into this type of sudden wealth?

To the cashiers cage and have them wire that money into my account. No way I'm gonna carry any kind of note around for that kind of sheepskin!
