Yes we have hit road work every day on this trip and sometimes long delays. I would one day like to go to Mohegan but looks like getting there from Canada might be traffic congested in some areas. Perhaps some day.

I am also enjoying your travelogue Case. Glad you are having a wonderful trip (aside from the construction).

Thursday August 24. We drove east out of Illinois into Indiana under hot sunny skies. Indiana was noticeably flat land great for farming. Illinois gas was expensive around 4.00 per gallon but Indiana a bit cheaper at 3.80. Arrived at Blue Chip casino in Michigan City Indiana for a one night comp stay as this is another Boyd property.
We were able to see Lake Michigan in the distance,
Good size casino with 1600 machines. Mostly smoking allowed but did have a small no smoking area. Video poker odds ok DDB 9-5 DB 9-6-5. Jacks only 8-5. M had a few wins
Took it easy the last few days to recharge the system. Short drive ahead.-

Got dates mixed up. Spent Thursday August 24 at Blue Chip in Michigan City.
Friday August 25 drove to South Bend Indiana for two nights at Comfort Suites at a cost of 109 per night. Visited Four Wind casino Huge non smoking casino with over 2200 machines and 175,000 sq foot property. Also really clean and everything looks new. Saturday will tour area a bit.

Thanks. Played more keno this trip. Keno can be like video poker, up and down. We have not hit any rain yet on this trip and Friday Aug 25 was first cloudy day. We are also out of the hot muggy days now so much more comfortable.

LSaturday August 26. Drove from South Bend to Shipshewana to get a feel for the Amish life. This is the third largest Amish and Mennonite communities in the US. Horse driven buggies were everywhere.
They have a famous flea market every Tuesday and Wednesday but sadly our schedules did not match. Lots of home cooking restaurants and stores geared to the Amish lifestyle.
Went back to Four Winds to finish out our stay. Had a meal at Timbers in the casino and once again more food than we could eat.
Once again M was hot with a few good slot wins
Heading north Sunday for our last two nights of this trip.-
