Sunday,Monday August 27,28. Phoned Soaring Eagle casino, hotel and asked if they had any comp rooms and they generously said we could have both nights free. We come here about three or four times a year so getting rooms seems easy. For those not familiar with the property it is located in Mount Pleasant Michigan.
Beautiful non smoking casino with over 3300 machines and 210,000 square feet which probably includes a building across the street that also has machines. Did not gamble much here but they have some of the best VP in the state. 10-6 DDB, 10-7 DB and 9-6 JOB. However not all machines have this payout. Food is also priced low like a western omelette for 9.95 and that had three eggs, toast and hash browns. This is always the busiest casino as the locals patronize it heavily. The rooms are very nice and probably the best on this trip
Ok so here is a keno win that shows the ULTIMATE low wager. A 6 cent bet that returns 48 dollars.
This one was a bit more.
In the morning we will be heading for Caesars Windsor in Canada for a tier multiplier. I will give a trip summary once we are settled in.-

Case, enjoying your road trip report - I love doing road trips, giving me the itch. Good luck at Caesars Windsor, and safe home.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. No seven stars. I just got diamond but M only had 4000 tiers so with multiplier for 3 days we will get close to diamond but I am sure they will have another promo before the end of the year. We use diamond for free rooms across the country as diamond also covers resort fees and parking.

Tuesday August 29.
Long construction delay just outside Detroit but we finally made the tunnel into Canada. When you exit the tunnel you could walk to Caesars as it is that close. The casino is large covering two floors and like all Canadian casinos is smoke free. Video poker is ok with DDB 9-6 and DB 9-6. They have a decent pick-‘em game as well. Detroit always gets labelled as a dirty city but the view from Canada is beautiful. That will end our trip for now but will be flying to Vegas probably in September and then Florida to spend some of the winter.
Here is a few notes from this trip:
We were on the road and living in hotels for 17 days
We were in 7 states Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Illinois and Indiana.
We crossed the Mississippi 7 times.
Nicest casino was a tie between Treasure Island in Minnesota and Four Winds South Bend. We were impressed as everything looked new and so clean.
Only casino we would not go back to was Idle of Capri in Boonville. I mentioned the reason when we wrote about that area.
17 days with no rain. How lucky was that.
Almost 3,000 miles (5000 km)
Cheapest gas in Hannibal Missouri at 3.32
Funniest moment happened at the Comfort Suites in South Bend I Indiana. I am in the shower at 8 am, turn on the water and now I can’t figure out how to turn on the shower. I pull on the handle, shove, twist everything I can think of but can’t figure the damn thing out. Now I am getting old but I still function reasonably well. So I get on my knees and stick my head under the tap to wash my hair then take a bath to clean. M comes in to see what the hell is going on and has a good laugh but she also can’t figure the shower out. Then I get out dry off and spot this message that was covered by the shower curtain. WTH! Who was the genius that invented this.
Thanks everyone that followed along and left nice comments. It made doing the report enjoyable.
