shaking my head thread

Post by dinghy »

h/t @doris13, this topic is for premium quads on non-premium games .

I'll start. Playing the Caesars 10x TC multiplier promo, I was dealt this interesting development with 55 hands lit:

I don't trust my memory in such a moment of excitement, but I'm almost sure I tossed a 7 as my dealt kicker. And then as you see, no 7s on the draw.

I'm relieved I wasn't playing a game that paid extra for aces with a 7.

Everyone likes to see dealt quad aces, congrats on that. If you are playing a game such as JOB and you cannot improve the hand with a drawn kicker card, why not just keep all 5 dealt cards right off?

For its and giggles, I counted 16 kicker cards out of the 55 hands. If playing DDB your draw would have totaled 32,000 + 31,200 = 63,200. If playing TDB your draw would have totaled 64,000 + 31,200 = 95,200.

Thanks for the #s, but both of those outcomes would have triggered a tax form .

Less effort to hold 4 cards instead of 5 .

Seriously though, it just depends on my mood. I'm more curious with aces because of the close association with kickers.

I’m always afraid of making a costly mistake. So I hold just the 4 cards and hit deal. Some machines are not lined up properly when you use the glass and some buttons do not work well as we all know. More than once because of flaws within the machine, I have hit or touched in the correct spot only ho have the wrong card held or discarded. You can usually catch that, unless you are playing too fast. The worst scenario I have recently run into is a button that holds a card, then by the split second you hit deal, the hold disappears. Usually happens at bar top machines for obvious reasons. 😬

In my years, I've never had a significantly memorable mishap. I do play fast, but I think I'm careful to calibrate my speed to the situation. Any time the hold is monetarily important, I slow down and pay a little extra attention.

This may not be precisely on topic, but sharing pictures, who doesn't enjoy a dealt full house?

HEY WAIT A MINUTE!

Yep, I pulled the same draw on all three hands. It's happened before, but this may be the first time I got the card I needed :D .
