Harrah's Joliet 4-7-24
I decided last year, I may have mentioned here, that I was going to play video poker more on my terms this year by taking advantage of multiplier days, etc. I decided to go to Harrah's Joliet today as I had a couple things going. First, It was Seven Stars Renewal Gift Day and, second, it was a minimum 2X Tier credit multiplier day. The multiplier would go to 4X if the White Sox won, they didn't. Upon arrival about 7:15 am this morning I went to one of my favorite machines. Much to my dismay(?) I found the players card reader malfunctional so I moved 2 machines over. After getting down almost a grand, I was resolved to it being a questionable day winning wise. Then, AWAK hit for 4K. TDB Happy Dance. Switching between TDB and ACJP I continued to hit some nice hands. Back to TDB, just when I thought the machine was heading south, I was dealt 8's while on TDB. Nice 2.5k handpay. A little while later the machine did start trending downward but not too bad. I decided to go try some .25 denom Dream Card at a different machine. on the second hand I caught AWAK. Gave a couple hundred back and decided to go play a Buffalo machine. Seeded it with 300 bucks, was down to $165.00 and caught a nice $190.00 bonus. Cashed out. Needed to kill an hour before the Seven Stars event at noon so I left and went to look at a new Honda Pilot. Nice. Went back to Harrah's for the Seven Stars, I chose a $150.00 Visa E-gift card, and left. Results for the day, up a few K, but more importantly I earned 5,300 Tier credits before the multiplier. Got Diamond in a Day plus another 5,300 Tier credits for the 2X multiplier.

Kickin' ace on the AWAK's again Ted. Nice draws for the straight flushes and 9's also. Ten play at dollars is serious stuff- lucky for you the machines weren't rigged today.
One question though- are 20600 TC really more important than + a few k$? If so, maybe you should have kept going for SSIAD, though you would have had to go to 250 a hand (no decimal point).

Thanks for the kudos TT.
This was the first year that I "earned" Seven Stars and that was mainly because of an early year push last year and taking advantage of a Tier multiplier week at the end of 2023. I am normally more comfortable at the Diamond level, Plus more than Elite. I like having free rooms at my disposal more than I do a $600.00 airfare credit earned at Elite. Not that I'd turn down 6300 bucks though, lol.
All in all, I didn't give a whole lot back considering my play today, there were several dealt full houses to me on both TDB and ACJP. Those are worth $450.00 and $400.00 respectively at 10 hands. Same with several dealt flushes and straights, had a bunch of those today as well. I wiffed the few times I was dealt trip 2/3/4's on TDB, couldn't nail that 4th card that I needed except for once, small 4's after drawing the final 4.
I'm waiting until August as there is a new casino in the Chicago south suburbs that should be opening around August. It is owned by a Native American group and it is supposed to be really nice, like Four Winds New Buffalo, MI. I will most likely play before August but I really don't need to play anymore at Harrah's locally unless I really want to.
Good luck to you and no complaints from me today about the machines being rigged - in my favor.

TT - to add;
I was so close to the 5,000 tier credit number that I couldn't let the opportunity go by.

Ditto and then some. Wish I could weather the high variance. Dont have the discipline and usually not the bankroll. Probably could if I went once a week. Again Congrats!!

Thanks OTA and olds.
I have said before that sufficient bankroll is key. Unless a player catches lightning in a bottle early in a session, you'll sink fast playing TDB. But, when it hits, it's a good feeling. While I was playing Dream Card, a guy was playing Super Times Pay 3 play and was dealt trip aces. He drew the 4th ace and a 3. He was playing Bonus Poker. I cringed. I did congratulate him just the same though.

Ah, the joys of Bonus Poker. Look, if you can survive early torture of that magnitude, you deserve to win.
