Can't win every time but I was just back from Vegas and took a tip from MikeA and had a rewarding run at blackjack.Believe me JM, it doesn't work everytime...switching from one game to the other.  The past few trips, BJ has saved my BR and VP has been my ruin.  But this last trip over the weekend it turned around.  I had some good wins at DDB (9/6 <sigh>) but they came FAR apart.  Still they were enough to keep me well ahead. But I needed a change.  The "posture" for me at an upright machine just doesn't lend itself any more to me for making 6 and 8 hour sessions!  So, I resorted to a low limit blackjack table.  6-deck playing a single spot and I couldn't get a good count very often and when I did, I didn't get the cards.  I ended up losing about half my 4000 credit bankroll that trip even considering the wins at VP.Like you said, it happens.

I was licking my wounds and killing time at the MGM.  Man, was that placegetting the play.  I was surprised to see many dealer stand tables, also.Maybe the preponderance.  European roulette, also, but still not foreign enough for me. Saw the worst bj player of all time. Just a kid throwing quarters randomly, it seemed, and having a ball. Playing 3 hands he might double on 7 but not 10 in the same hand. Saw him stand on 11. Got to spend it somewhere, right? Dad's got more than he knows what................

Seriously, I gave up on trying to identify the worst BJ player of all time!  It seems like when I go to the casino, I find a NEW one every time!I think the problem with BJ is that in its essence, it is a very simple game.  All you have to do is get closest to 21 to win!  Right? So every Stanford Wong Wanna Be has "figured the game out" and has come up with his/her own strategy!  It's sad.  Their play doesn't hurt anyone else at the table though the majority you see at the tables are just as stupid as the one making the bad plays when they go off the deep end and let their emotions run  Amok!  That player has "ruined the shoe!"  He "took the dealer's Bust Card!"  Bla, bla, bla!  The truth is, that person helps as often as he hurts!I used to try to offer advice when someone was making a horrible decision at the table.  Then I finally figured out that most people do not want help.  After a few confrontations, I just let sleeping dogs lay.  It's their money and if they enjoy paying the casino electricity bills, it's just that much more left in the coffers for me <LOL>

Everyone I have offered to help has said "no thanks, I'm just playing for fun."  So it's more fun to play stupidly? It obviously embarrasses or irritates them so I guess it's a waste.
