I have a different spin on this.  Although I use most of the examples above I have found a branch of my bank in Vegas in close proximity of my fav casino.  Before I leave home I make sure that I have enough to play with in an ATM accessible account.  I make withdrawals as needed and have even made a few deposits.  Sadly, the withdrawals outnumber the deposits by such a large amount I would need a calculator to assign a percentage to it.

Other than that, what the thieves can't see they usually don't steal.  I always keep my bankroll in a front pocket.  I try to access with no one watching.  I don't like to carry more than 10 bills/$1000.  The reason for this is it simply is too much to manage efficiently.   I don't leave money in the hotel room unless I hide it first.  Don't laugh!  I have put money in many spots of a room that no one would find it.  For example, I have pulled up corners of carpet, under drawers, in light fixtures, behind framed artwork.... The list goes on and on.  The bottom line is this.  There never seems to be a safe when I need one and I am going to do everything I can do to protect it.  If the casino can't provide one they will provide me somewhere I can store it for a short time.

Bottom line, if you hide it don't forget it.  If you are forgetful keep it with you or at the cage.  Hence my under the mattress hiding space.  In my defense, that hiding space was only for while I was in the room.  I had forgotten it!!!

 And if you are foolish enough to leave it, CDdenver is smart enough to go pick it up!

when i used to play at the stardust, they were always accomadating about paying me in a check instead of carrying the cash. i was more concerned about losing it back to the casino as opposed to losing it somewhere(misplacing). one time the slot clerk said they didn't offer checks but after a quick visit to her manager, she issued me the check.

i've even been at pala casino (indian casino in so cal) once and cashed in a large number of blackjack chips and they were even willing to pay me in check in that case.

you would think most casinos would want to accomadate the guest so i wouldn't fret asking to be paid in check if you collect $1,200+ in video poker winnings. what's the worst they can say? no?

{The casinos don't like to do it, but if you ask (demand) they will write you a check. Of course that means you won't have all that ready cash to give back to them. That's why they don't want to do it. }

A while back I was having one of those nights where every vp machine I touched was a winner and I played until I was dead tired and walking with a limp because of all the cash I had in my pocket. I finally just quit playing vp and decided to leave but not before a slot machine caught my eye and I popped a couple of $20's in and stated to play, a few minutes later I had people all around because I had hit a progressive jackpot. They didn't like it even a little bit when I asked for a check. They tried very hard to give me some cash and a check along with a room and an offer to send a limo for my wife. I even turned them down for a pic. The thing that surprised me was it was a handwritten check.

All the casino checks I have received were also hand written. Admittedly, there have only been a few.

Well I guess I should also add that I have only had the one opportunity where I felt the need to ask for a check. And as for wishing you had my problems along with the few times where I could not lose, they were quickly followed up by the no matter what I touched I could not hit a thing.

My husband's money belt looks like a normal leather belt. There is a 14" zipper on the reverse side that will hold bills folded to about 1", with full length, or regular height and folded from side to side several times or accordian-like. Negative: It does not seem to hold much $, at least that's the case every time I checked! I use a flat, nylon, passport holder that has two zippered compartments that is worn under clothing with an attached cord for wearing around the neck. Depending on what I am wearing, that cord may show. I am not concerned about the fashion statement, but others could see this, realize it's purpose and use it against me. A MI turtle neck covers the cord. So when it's 95 degrees in Vegas, I will be the only one wearing a turtle neck! Both of these items have worked better for us than anything else. I also stash $ here and there but not much in my purse. I usually keep my driver's license in a safer place than my purse because that is used so often on casino trips, so important for W2Gs and required at airports.

I keep my gambling money in a money clip in my front pocket. Very difficult for anyone to lift this. I do have a billfold but I keep very little money in it.

when I went home yesterday I didn't need a money clip, secret belt, casino check or a hidden pocket
