Sorry to break the string but it seems that most of us stop at about the  amount of a royal when it comes to losses during a session.
It is nice to see that I am status quo at something

Shadow, sorry about that 4k loss.  That had to hurt considering that it appears $1 VP is the highest denom that you play.  I always seem to get killed when I move up in denom.   Was it on one of those really high variance games like DDB?

It was on two pair OEJs. I've lost a royal at this game many times. This was the first time at the dollar level. Overall, I had a very good year at the game with many large wins. I think I've mentioned this before but the game plays similarly to DDB. When you're hitting the premium hands it almost seems like stealing ... when you're not, it seems like you got rolled.

It varies, approx 2X/week, unless on casino vacation, DDB, DW, DB in that order, $.25-$1.00, single to ten lines, incredibly fast, way too long, lost track,  4 this year and hoping for a bumper year!, way too long, largest jackpot $5000, $1000.

Hey Ace...
I enjoyed the topic.  It was fun to see how we stacked up against each other.  One thing for certain, we all share those trips from hell.  Even though I don't enjoy hearing that others have had the misery of a losing session, trip, year... it is nice to know that I am not alone.  I have gotten to the point where the ups and downs of this game do not affect me.

But; it is those real bad trips that still get me.  You know the ones I am talking about.  There is nothing like going on a trip to Vegas and spending a day or two just trying to hit a quad.  My last trip over NYrs my wife did not hit her first quad until late into the second day of play.  We probably play 8 hours a day together.  I am the night owl so I usually win some of it back after she goes to bed.  We share a bankroll of approx 8000 credits.  It was really depressing because I was doing real well.  Still, we got killed when the odds caught up with me.  I have noticed that when two people share a bankroll you end up losing more often than winning....

I hear ya clwn2, THOSE are the sessions everyone dreads I think and no one is ever completely immune to having them either.

I'm not married, but you can rest assure that every time I hit something good, my girlfriend has her hand out!!  HA, I guess it's good practice for what's to come when I finally take the plunge.  It's hard enough for one person to win I think, let alone two people but it can happen.

Thanks to all that have responded thus far, and keep it coming.  I too like to see the full spectrum of everyone's experience with video poker.

1.  How often do you play VP?
For free, pretty much every day now. When in Vegas, every day for money, too . I have only been on two trips so far, so I guess not too often yet.

2.  What is your game(s) of choice?
I'm hooked at Deuces so far, which is a good game for a beginner's bankroll. I also play some DDB. As for machines I do most of my play on single line (again, the bankroll) but play triple play when I can and really love the opportunity to play some Super Times Pay.

3.  At what denomination do you normally play?
Quarters

4.  Single line or multi-line games?
A little of both.  I prefer multi line but my bankroll demands single line right now.

5.  What rate of speed do you play at (hands/hour)?
I haven't checked in a while, but in the casino it varies.  I play more slowly at first to get in the rhythm then can go faster after that. I'm not in a hurry though so if I'm talking to someone I'll slow down, etc.

6.  How long have you played VP?
About 4 months for real, over a year on this site now!

7.  Approximately how many Royals to date?
Zero.

8.  Longest marathon session?
8 hours or so I think. Not positive... it was late!

9.  Largest win in one sitting?
Loose Deuce hit for $625.

10. Largest loss in one sitting?
About $300 in a sitting but lost $500 total that day.

Royals are like 5trees in AC Joker. They show up when you least expect them. Maybe we should think, "No way am I'm going to get a Royal" and shazaam!
