According to the Borgata website, they are offering 5x slot dollars through November.  What's the practical effect on this for .25 VP players?  I'm confused by their slot card.  They have slot dollars and comp dollars.  What's the difference.  Can you even earn these dollars at the .25 level?  Thanks in advance.

Slot Dollars is money you can redeem at a machine (slot or VP) to play with. (Not given in cash)
Comp Dollars is money that can be used for , food & rooms, gift shops, etc...(  not redeemable for cash and or available for wagering)

Yes, a .25 level player can earn both.

It is a given that a $1 or $5 player playing the same length of time will earn more than a .25 player over the same time.

There is also a difference in the amount of Slot and Comp Dollars that can be accumulated  on a Slot Machine VS a VP Machine.  I don't know of a Casino that awards the VP player the same as they do the Slot player. Simple math dictates that they (in theory) have a greater hold on Slot machines therefore can offer larger freebies.

The rules and amounts vary greatly from Casino to Casino. Even among Casinos in the same family.  Tough to know from one visit to the next what their formulas are. You can read throughly the Slot Club rules, ask questions of personnel and probably not be able to get a good handle on what their return % is.

The newer machines make it possible for you to play through a set amount and then read on the machine what you have earned. At that point a little math and you will know their return &.

All that said, enjoy the game.

Thanks, faygo.
I did a little digging and found this site from google:
http://members.cox.net/vp_free/E_BORG.htm
If the cashback is equivalent to slot dollars:  .15x5 (promo)=.75
Add that to a 9/6 game like JOB (99.5%) and you could have a positive game:  99.5+.75=100.25  can you also add earned comps .3? Maybe that gives you a little more positive action: 100.55?

This is of course assuming perfect play, that there are some 9/6 machines there, and that that site is correct.

What do you all think?

WHEN I PLAY 25¢ VP AT THE BORGATA IT TAKES OVER 1 HOUR OF PLAY TO EARN 5 COMP DOLLARS.

Jim,
Was this during those times when they had the "5xtimes" promo?

What do you all think?[/QUOTE] I think you should take a risk and find some NSUD or 9/6 DDB(assuming you're proficient enough at JoB)

SHINY: THEY DON`T MULTIPLY COMP DOLLARS. THE 5x IS FOR SLOT DOLLLARS. THE BORGATA DOESN`T SHOW THE SLOTS DOLLARS THAT YOU ACCUMULATE DURING YOUR TRIP. TO FIND OUT WHAT YOU HAVE EARNED IN SLOT DOLLARS. YOU HAVE TO WAIT 24 HOURS ( 1 GAMING DAY ) FROM WHEN YOUR TRIP ENDED THEN GO ON THE BORGATA WEBSITE AND LOOK UNDER YOUR BORGATA ACCOUNT TO SEE. I DON`T THINK A CASINO HOST OR THE CARD CENTER HAS ACCESS TO THIS INFORMATION DURING YOUR STAY.
IT MIGHT TAKE 1 HOUR TO EARN $5 SLOT DOLLARS ON A 25¢ VP MACHINE.

I was asking if my math added up correctly.  Assuming I can find a 9/6 machine (that link says they have moved them) AND that I can play perfectly.   Just a newbie trying to jump in the cold water...

Thanks, Jim for the clarification on the slot/comp dollars.

Shiny: Shadowman and New2vp would be the ones to ask if your math is correct. Looks correct to me though. I've never been to AC so I'm not in a position to say whether or not what games are where if available. If you are green at the game, better to practice and become proficient at BP or JoB first. Learning other VP games will come with experience. Just enjoy what you're doing.

The math was fine. Determining the "value" of a play is something I do all the time. Sometimes it can get real hairy if you try to figure out the value of drawings or other promotions that have no specific value.
