I would not worry about the food or water on a cruise ship! Our son's cruise ship docked at Port of Miami at 5:00 AM after a fun week at sea. At 6:00 AM passengers awoke to an explosion in the boiler room. Nine or more crew members eventually died from excruciatingly painful steam burns. 2-3000 passengers were hustled off asap and told their luggage would arrive in a few weeks. 2-3000 passengers were arriving from all parts of the world for the next cruise to learn their cruise was canceled. Perhaps a good case for taking out trip insurance! The vintage steam ship had recently passed inspection. We heard about the accident when my son called his house for his phone messages. We were in his area on business and had just put his dog in his home. "WHERE"S OUR CAMERA?" Our sons had just given us a Nikon Cool Pix digital camera that we won't take on casino trips for fear of losing it. Then, "Are you okay?" Two weeks later our son's new luggage with our new camera equipment was left on his front porch when he was on a business trip. My lucky intuition kicked in. I had visions of his luggage on his porch and it was. What a nightmare for everyone involved, including getting luggage back to owners!Bon voyage!

Eduardo, theres plenty to see and do. The casinos onboard are practically rigged because the house advantage is something like 5 plus. Thats like playing roulette exclusively!

Don't be so quick to generalize. Obviously, you won't find paytables that look like off-strip casinos, but I cruised in February and hit 2 Royal Progressives. It wasn't planned, but it can happen.

VV14, lets face it. The machines were installed mostly for passenger entertainment. In terms of overall payback vs. house advantage, theres not too much to discuss. Granted paytables may not be the greatest but you have to ask yourself, "how badly do you want to play VP?" RF's, progressives and the occasional jackpot from a slot machine doesn't compare to what they have in the ships count room. One almost has to make a generalization despite some good hits.

One almost has to make a generalization despite some good hits.It IS a generalization to say that the casino is practically rigged. Also, to compare the winnings on the floor with what they have in the count rooms on a cruise ship is no different than any other land based casino, so that statement is not relevant. Additionally, cruise ship paytables are not unlike some LV strip locations or any typical Native American Casino throughout the country. The question of how bad one wants to play VP is asked and answered by the participation of thousands of people every day...and not just on cruise ships. Finally, when you really look at playing slots (and their corresponding low payback), aren't they ALL, regardless of locale, there for entertainment?

I couldn't agree enough wholeheartedly! Paytables vary but are not much different from popular destination paytables.Did you get your VP start having prior knowledge or like many others who knew nothing of paytables, advantage play and things like positive return? I'll be quick to point out that I was oblivious to any of those things and to some extent, still am although I'll excersize more restraint now as opposed to just putting in a bill and going for it. Slots are strictly for entertainment, Period! There are those foolish enough to think they have an edge on a slots RNG but little do they know. The bottom line is would you play it at your favorite casino? It's not fair that one is at the mercy of the programmer/ slot tech but not a lot one can do about it.
