Congrats!
I am going to go take advantage of a free birthday steak and I have a coupon guaranteed to win $5! Yes, five dollars alright.  Now if I get the $250 I will not know what to do.  I hope your good fortune will rub off on me tonight!

Follow up on trip to casino--I did win $5.  Had a great steak supper and even got to visit with the chef for a little while.  He had come out to visit the tables and came over to visit with us since we had not been there for quite some time (nearly a year).
Took the five dollars and played JOB 6/5 Progressive as the jackpot was over $2,000.  Earned 31 base points (each base point is $10 cash in) with that five so it was a nice play with their money.  Highest up I got was $33 and instead of cashing out I just played it out.  Had one good stab at the royal as I had Ace, queen, jack of hearts.  I ended up with a flush with ten and nine.  Lady next to me was dealt four of the royal and ended up with a six of another suit so I was happy with my flush.

Congrats POKHERGUY,
That is quite a story.  I am a DDB guy myself but my results over the long term have been much different than yours. Are you able to find a good schedule in your location?  I usually play 9/6 but since I have gone down to nickels I cannot find much above 8/5 in Cally.  I have never had a a year that ended up in the black but have come close a few times.  Good thing I play as a hobby but some good wins would not hurt.  I can't imagine having a night like the one you shared but I have had my own version in quarterland.  Still looking for the multiple royal day at that denom.

Anyway, this is about you, not me.  Hope you got some good pics.. I must say it is stories like yours that keep me playing.  You just can't beat the excitement when those hands are flying..

Thx clwn2 it was nothing but a freak night and I doubt anything will ever happen like it again for me. I've finished to the good for many years in a row now playing $1 & $2 DDB and TB always at max and on occasions I will even slip a bit of $5 DDB in the mix. I won't lie and say I've made a lot of money but I did play my fair share and came out on top. I went into a bit of a slump late in 2007 and it had continued pretty much up to this trip. I'm actually so far behind this year playing single line $2 DDB it would take a miracle for me to put up respectable numbers.
Also I was warned a long time ago about taking pictures in this place.

Just got home from my best video poker session ever. What started out looking to be another bad trip changed on my last $100. As always I was playing $2 DDB at max and was on my last bill for the night when I was dealt quad A's, missed the kicker. At least I can play a little more. A few hands later quad A's once againg no kicker but I'm still glad to get it. About 20 minutes later I'm dealt quad 3's w/kicker and 2 hands later get quad 2's followed by quad kings. I'm way ahead now and I'm wondering around looking for something different to play so I decide to throw a couple hundred dollars in a ten play DDB machine because I've never played one before. Since I was having a good night I decided to max my bet and on the second hand I got quad 2's (playing money). A few hands later it dealt me quad A's, holding the four A's I recieved the kicker on 4 hands. That was a pretty picture, I even allowed them to take my picture for that jackpot. Wasn't done yet though. Went over to play the 100 play DDB, once again a first for me. I could hardly believe my eyes on the second hand, a dealt royal flush. Another first for me was being paid in the VIP room. My only hope is I haven't used up all my luck in one night.

Geez...I was going to post about winning 2 progressive RF jackpots in 3 days on a recent cruise (where cruise ships NEVER pay), but after reading this........

Hi POKHERGUY,
Some story that is for sure.  I have heard some good ones on this forum but this one has got to be in the top five.  A few of the better ones have
been, well, unbelievable.  I think every once in a while someone will get on here and spin a good yarn.  I know yours is for real, I can always tell the real from the fantasy.   I have a real love/hate relationship with this game.  It is absolutely phenominal what these machines are capable of if you hit that RNG the right way.  I have had too much time between large payouts and non payouts so far.  I am hoping...

Sorry you did not get some pics, they would have  been keepers.  I play mostly in Indian casinos in South Cal between Vegas trips.  Never had a problem getting a picture if I wanted one.  Hope you keep the streak going!

The picture thing does suck at one time at this place I would take a picture of every handpay then they stopped it. I don't really understand why it would be a problem. I guess they have thier reasons. One thing that should be noted is this place is not considered a casino by thier own definition they are considered an "electronic games of skill establishment". The video poker is random but had it not been for the fact they were so close I would rarely play there. It is funny though that while it is random so many of my handpays were dealt. The other night 4 of the 5 handpays were dealt and I looked up the odds on the dealt royal flush which shows to be 1/650,000 hands. That makes 2 in less than a year.

Lot's of funny things happen with VP. Last year I was dealt 3 RFs in a two month period (mid-March through mid-May). No dealt ones since. I'm currently in a 0-270 dry spell at drawing to 4 in one particular casino although I'm about average overall. In another casino I have no RFs in 190K hands.

Although it seems that you're doing alright for Sams or Southpoint. Not quite sure what you're averaging hands-per-house but it may appear that you're ahead of the average curve!
