Reno-Peppermill vs Atlantis ??

Post by kjoh »

Heading to Reno in a few days.  Staying at Harrah's as we are comped there so I'll play there at night, but I have days I can play away from downtown.  I'm torn between Peppermill and
Atlantis....I like DDTriple Play and DD single line.  Usually quarter or $.
Also is it safe for a woman to walk from Harrah's to Eldarado at night by herself.  Any input would be appreciated

I have to suggest Atlantis.  I think the Peppermill experienced a big expansion of their head along with the property expansion.  And their VP schedules have really worsened.   I'm not able to address the safety issue.

Thanks for the advice.  I think I'll head there and try it out...This will probably be the last cheap flight I ever get with Harrahs as I don't intend to play there much.  If I don't feel safe walking and it's late I'll just hop a cab for the two or three blocks...Prob. a lot less than what I'll be putting into those little machines.....

We returned from good Reno trip today and were pleased with comped room and breakfast buffet at Harrahs. Log on "reno casino map" and then "downtown Reno Casinos" map showing Eldorado "kitty corner" across from Harrahs. Two easy cross streets from E to H where there is a DIAGONAL CANOPY leading into Harrahs. Last night, I walked from Harrahs to Eldorado and back. I had $60 of comps to use or lose at E. upstairs gift shops. Reno map in phone book in night stand drawer. Library: 301 S Center - S Virginia St near Liberty, in sight of Harrah's, beyond Sienna at Truckee R. and post office. Manned desk at lower level provides library card # and password to use one of their computers. You will need transportation to Peppermill and Atlantis on either side of Virginia Street from Harrahs. There is public bus transportation and maybe free bus? I began internet bus search then we rented car from ADVANTAGE.I enjoyed Eldorado and Sienna casinos for DDB and DW play. Temps around 50 & comfortable in winter jacket. Beautiful pink crabapple trees and jonquils in bloom! Hang on to wins and have fun!

Marie,  Thanks for the info.  We have a rent car so getting to the Atlantis won't be a prob.  Hubby doesn't play so I'm on my own in the casinos.  It sounds pretty safe.  I'll look up the map.  Maybe I'll win big and take a limo back to the hotel...  :)
