A nice day

Post by rfonlymama »

How did everyone's weekend go?   Mine was pretty non-descript for the first hour or two in Iowa but then hit a quarter royal on triple play STP (no mulitplier/one hand), got dealt four of a kind on triple play fifty cent and hit several other single hand quads.  Fortunately was able to cash out a bit of $2000 ahead and NO W-G!!
I know that's not great by some of your standards but those days are nice to help with the dry spells.  I feel pretty lucky to have hit 12 royals so far this year...my best ever!   Lots of that I attribute to all the advice and helpful links from this web site...thanks everyone.

Hi RF - glad to hear you did well in Iowa, 2K IS a good day by most of our standards. Where were you playing in Iowa? Congrats on the high royal count for 2008 so far and keep it up. Thanks,  Ted.

WAY TO GO RF
PLAYED AT THREE OF OUR LOCAL CASINO'S HERE IN THE ST.LOUIS AREA AND HAD SUCCESS AT LUMIERE PLACE (PINNACLE'S) AND AMERISTAR BUT GAVE BACK SOME AT HARRAH'S DUE TO THE MISSOURI LOSS LIMIT. IN MISSOURI WITH THE $500.00 LOSS LIMIT PER 2 HOUR'S MAKES IT HARD TO PLAY EVEN 10-CENT SPIN POKER $4.50 PER SPIN IF YOU WANT TO CASH OUT YOUR WINNING TICKETS AND NOT PLAY YOUR CREDIT'S. SO YOU END UP PLAYING ON THE SAME MACHINE WHEN YOU WOULD LIKE TO MOVE ON BUT CAN'T. TOTAL FOR WEEKEND UP $250.00.

Congrats on the good weekend, rfonlymama.
As I mentioned in another thread I broke my 6 week RF drought playing dollar OEJs. OEJs plays a lot like double bonus with the wild royal close to quad aces, 5oak is close to quad 2-4s and the straight flush is 250 credits and occurs about as often as a non-bonus quad.

Outside the RF I did poorly on the SFs and 5oaks but hit 4 wild royals. Overall I was up an additional $300, making the total win $4300. Of course, I did get a W2G in the process but since I always report all my winnings anyway, it really doesn't matter.

Congratulations to both of you! Some of us penny-ante low rollers are ecstatic to be up just one or two benjies so 3-4k profits are cause for celebration. I think in terms of replacing the gasoline it took to get to the daggone casino in the first place. After that, its covering bankroll. I'll give a wink and a wave as I pass by you folks in the high limit room.
       Good luck

Speaking of gasoline ... I think my trip cost around $60. Of course, the 35 mph winds and sub-freezing temps had a little to do with that.

thanks all.   Ted I was playing at Riverside casino south of Iowa City.   Just like everyone else the price of gas dictates where I go to a certain extent.  Hard to justify driving an hour to play when the local place is only 20 minutes.
Texaco, I HATE that rule in your state.  Heck we went to Harrah's for a couple nights two years ago and I got shut out a couple times when I was playing until I figured that system out of not putting new money in and using the vouchers.  It sure kept me from playing the $1 progressive.  And I think it was maybe $200 for the two hours then.
Shadow, those $1 royals are always nice to pocket!!  I haven't had one of those this year...spending more time on quarters and fifty-centers!
