I'm looking to overnight in Mesquite in the near future on my way through the state... anyone been there?
Any suggested place to play?
As for lodging... bonus points for anyone that knows a place to overnight with pets.
Anyone know Mesquite, NV?

I stayed in St George Utah last year, which is about 30 miles from there all interstate. Beautiful drive thru the Virgin River Canyon. It is really a breath taking senic drive. From my memory there are like 4 casinos of any size and one or two bars with vp.
Alot of places in St George allow pets. You can use me as a reference if you like.
MR OEJ.
You got you a mexican chiwahah?

Well, we found a place that will take pets so I booked it. Good rates. They said they don't take snakes though so I guess those will have to stay in the car with a bowl of water.

St George sounds nice OEJ but my hunch is that they don't have the same casino opportunities?

So Where are you staying? I stayed at St George and went to Bryce and Zion Natl Parks. Did make 2 short trips to Mesquite. Did my best at a gas station after fueling up. Hit 4 aces on a 25c ddb. I think it was a Terribles Station.

Well, I'm excited because it will be my first time playing 10/6 DDB!
This trip is rather unexpected but I can't go through Nevada without dropping some coins in my favorite machines.
It will be very fast.
I'll have to come up with a new strategy... maybe I'll call it my Run Through the Town or something. Of course, my plays will be exactly the same but I can feel the luck right now for some reason so maybe it will be really really good.

Utah allows gambling? I don't believe it. You still can't drink on Sundays there and the have VP? I don't believe it.

No, I think OEJ was saying he stayed just across the border and drove into Mesquite.

Eduardo "I'm looking to overnight in Mesquite in the near future on my way through the state... anyone been there?" I cannot help you out re casinos. However, oej had the right idea of visiting Bryce Canyon and Zion on that trip. Zion Nat'l. Park is sensational and about 2 hours out of your way from St George (one way or round trip?), depending on your route. On the way into Zion Natl Park I spotted a bald eagle feasting on a road kill deer and made my husband turn back so he could witness it as well. While I prefer not to view road kill, seeing the eagle, up close, was really amazing! He was so consumed with dining, we did not spook him away. Zion is at the base of the canyon floor and Bryce is looking down from above.
