'Gaming Today' dumps Fa La La La La.... La la la la

Post by rascal »

Gaming Today has dumped Fa La La La La.... La la la la's column.

Apparently they edited one of his columns and he didn't like the edit. An argument took place (unbelievable to think Rob would argue!) and the net result is that Rob is no longer with Gaming Today.

Is there even one place left on earth where he gets along with anyone? Yes, his own website, where he gets along with himself famously because, as he puts it, "I love smart people."

I don't know anything about that story, but methinks his column must have been declining in hits.  If it was one of the bigger draws, I don't think GT would have let an editorial dispute sever the relationship.  I can't imagine that it was the first time he had a disagreement with the editors.

Rob can probably negotiate a bigger salary for himself on his own site anyway.    Use some of the increase to take some classes on becoming an effective communicator.  Learn to meditate ("Ommm").

Maybe that is why he kept creating new aliases for the LVA forums. They would ban one and he would create another. They finally instituted a new policy for new members to specifically prevent this. I imagine this will cut into his ability to find new players to "educate".
I can imagine this will make oej quite sad.

Perhaps oej's legendary tolerance and patience for Rob and his views finally wore out, and he decided to call in some favors from the people at GT.

What's LVA's new policy?  Does it require some sort of intervention from the moderator/WM now instead of just letting new members jump in and start posting?

Yippeee!!!! It has been my mission since my training to bring that lip wrist purse carrying sob down. The huge lies he tells about these win streaks. Anyone that plays vp knows the a 88 session in a row win streak is silly and a lie.
And the recent tales of Machine Whisperer and Pattern Detection I knew he had lost his marbles(that is if he had any to start with)
His health is so poor from the years of booze, his time is drawing short. I will start on his obituary.

You must supply an email address at sign-up. A verification note is sent to that email address. The new user must supply the information they signed up with which includes city and state in a response.

While not 100% effective I assume the moderators use it to check the IP address and determine if it matches the information provided.

Oej, don't mince words - tell us what you really think...

Maybe we could pass the hat for the guy, or at least send him a sympathy e-card or something.

Can you drink a toast to him over the internet?

I only met him once and I was not impressed. There is a big difference between the actual person and the presentation on the internet. I play about 90% of my VP in Laughlin so I am always running into attendants and servers who have interacted with him, and very few like him. In addition, very few have ever seen him jump up and leave the casino after winning something. In fact, most people who seem to know Argentino describe him as someone who plunks his butt down in a seat and plays for hours non-stop, until his money runs out, so I don't know where he comes up with these articles he constantly writes about "romp around town." Well, I guess I do know where he comes up with them: His friend, Mr Jim Beam, probably helps him invent them......
