If you read the fine print on the machine masking, most if not all games are based on a 52 card deck. Discards are exactly that. They do not get re-shuffled along with the other 47 or not supposed to anyway.

Ed's right on that - a fresh deck is used for every deal.

thanks both of you. If i get you right, when i play a 100 hand video poker game and i hold all cards except let's say the ace of spades, which i discard,  i shouldn't be dealt the ace of spades again in any of the 100 draws, correct?

Sounds almost like a trick question   but to answer to the best of MY knowledge, no video poker game I've ever played would give to you on the draw either any card you have held nor a card you have discarded regardless of the number of hands on the multi-line machine. My understanding is that on a multi-line machine with 100 hands, if you hold an Ace of Spades and discard the 3h, 7d, 10c and Jh, then you would in each of the remaining 99 hands (each of which consists of a separate 52 card deck) have the Ace of Spades which would be held in all 100 hands and the 3h, 7d, 10c and Jh would be removed from all the decks for the 100 hands, leaving 47 cards in each deck from which the four empty spots in each hand would be randomly selected.I would say that if you really did see ANY one of the 5 cards origianlly dealt that had been discarded in any of the 100 hands on the redraw, then something is wrong with the machine.  Caution here though....I've tricked myself more than once by thinking I discarded the Jh and been redealt it when in reality, I just glanced at the unwanted Jack and discarded a Diamond instead of a Heart. Now, some of you Mulit-line gurus shoot me down on that.  I could be wrong, but I am not uncertain

I'm not a multiline guru myself, but I think what you said was right.

On any multiline machine, the same DEALT cards are used for all lines.

Every line gets a unique DRAW from its own deck, as if the five DEALT cards are removed from the deck for that line.  The cards removed from the deck for each line include not only the cards held on the bottom line, but also the cards discarded.  The remaining cards in the deck for each line are then shuffled.

The DRAW for any given line (whether 3 lines, 10 lines, 50 lines, 100 lines) is completely independent of the DRAW for any other line.

Definitely true for land based casinos, but I've seen the opposite happen online from time to time...be VERY careful when playing online...stick with the bigger and better reputation places. And WATCH your cards carefully!

Also, as to the question...for me its all about Super Times Pay these days..can't stop playing it!!  Again pay scales vary greatly.. for example,Mirage has better pays than TI, and PH is the best on the strip for STP. With MGM's policy of now giving 1 point per $4.50 coin-in on VP, I'm now a PH guy....
