There is free shuttle bus transportation between Harrah's (nee Grand), Horseshoe and Sheraton, Total Reward casinos in Tunica but not operating 24 hours. Perhaps 10 AM - 11:45 PM, later on weekends approx every 15 min. ask. Gold Strike (MGM-Mirage), Horseshoe and Sheraton casinos are within walking distance of each other. Bally's in Tunica is NOT part of Harrah's and you need to pay for bus there and back, $2 each way. There are nine casinos in Tunica. Commercial shuttle buses run approx every 20 min. 10 AM - 11 PM and until 3 AM Fri and Sat. Casinos in Tunica are spread out and you will need transportation between most of them. Tragic bus accident today in MS with Harrah's bus flipping over in median. 43 passengers on board, three passengers died. Bus was returning to S Carolina from Tunica. (log on: tragic MS bus accident) Log in, click on "search", enter tunica in "search key word" and then "start search" at base to read former posts from members. The most recent posts would probably offer most current info on where to play. Log on to Tunica casino map. We missed seeing the Mississippi River but it is supposed to be nearby. Report back any exciting events or helpful info! Have a great trip and LUCK!

The Tunica casinos are about as spread out as any place I have ever played. You will need to use your car or a shuttle bus. The casinos are not actually on the Mississippi but rather on canals or little lakes that are somehow connected to the Mississippi. As I have said, Tunica is one of the least impressive gambling venues I have ever been to. With so may great places to go that are so much more convenient and that have better casinos with better attitudes, I cannot for the life of me understand what the attraction is at Tunica.

Awww, but rascal, where else can outsiders see cotton fields? My husband shares your sentiments and even another free flight offer did not entice him to return. He lost our cell phone there as we were leaving. It was found and shipped but not working and we had it replaced. Others seem to love playing there and keep returning. It's an experience one has to try and then make their own evaluation and decision to return, or not.

I enjoyed Tunica the few times we were there. We stayed at the Grand before it was bought out by HET. Of course, they were one of the few casinos that offered positive OEJs, a rare thing considering MS had a limit on returns of <100%. No one knew the return of OEJs at that time.
We usually stopped there when we were heading somewhere else. One time it was Jackson TN, another couple of times it was Florida, and once a slight diversion heading out to Tucson.

IS IT ON THE MISS RIVER? No, its actually located in a nasty swamp. If you do want to see the river it can best be veiwed by heading north on Hwy. 61 toward Memphis when you reach the downtown area take a left and you will run into the river.
ARE THERE MANY CASINOS IN THE AREA? I believe there is 8.
IF SO, CAN YOU WALK TO ANY OF THEM? The Harrrah's (Grand) stands alone but they do offer a shuttle to the other Harrah's owned casinos. To me Sam's Town is the nicest casino of the bunch.

Graceland? I lived in Memphis for over 40 years and while I thought Elvis was pretty good I never had the urge to visit Graceland. Maybe its because I drove right by it all the time. Since you will be in Memphis Beale Street is a good place to visit and if you get hungry try the Rendevous ribs. Also if you do go downtown the Rock and Roll History Museum is right off Beale and its worth the admission. Good luck in Tunica.
