I saw one of the restaurants with his name on it at Caesar's Palace last Thursday. It was packed. I was looking for a Big Mac so didn't stop in. <LOL>

You guys have it all wrong.  One doesn't go to Wolfgang Puck's to eat, one goes to be seen or to tell friends that one ate there.

For good eatin' stick with the MikeA solution, supersized.   Or the Early Bird at Denny's.

Thanks for the unsolicited Wolfgang Puck restaurant rating! I let my husband select from the three MGM Detroit gourmet restaurants I was offered. Saltwater and Bourbon Steak also sounded great. Attire is SMART CASUAL (?) Personally, I think my winning black "MEET ME AT VP.COM" T shirt qualifies as "smart casual"  Our son will join us on my excess comps and I reminded him not to wear jeans. The Asst VP of Player Marketing had volunteered the restaurant options and forwarded my e mail to the VP of Security to "investigate how this happened". I requested an explanation why I was treated that way.Had Tedlark not mentioned the garage parking I would not have connected with the yogurt and water bottle. That was an afterthought. I had been swimming, skipped breakfast and knew MGM's BREEZE did not open until 10:00. Eating yogurt in the car while driving on the expressway was not an  option with the potential of spilling or causing an accident. I vetoed eating yogurt in the cold, deserted parking lot.Happy big game day! Luck with the next contest!

Hey Marie Meijers, I had the good fortune of eating with a friend at Spago in Hollywood. Although it was terribly overpriced for Italian food, it was indeed good stuff. Battista's or Casa Di Amore in LV would be a nice alternative to a Puck's place in sin city and the Rat Pack ate at those places too!

would you believe that wikipedia actually has an entry for "smart casual" dressing? here is what it says....

Smart casual (as distinct from business casual) is a loosely defined dress code, casual, yet "smart" enough to conform to the particular standards of certain Western social groups.[1]

Example of a smart casual look.
As "smart casual" is not formally defined, the lines between it and the other casual styles (see Dress code (Western)) are often blurred. For example, some may use the term smart casual interchangeably with business casual.
It has been suggested that smart casual for men consists of dress trousers - some, but not all definitions may allow jeans or chinos[2] - a long-sleeve dress shirt[3] (tie optional), leather loafers or dressy slip-ons, dress socks, a belt, and, if appropriate, a sport coat. For women, it consists of slacks, jeans or a skirt (long or short), a blouse or turtleneck, a fashionable belt, a jacket, a vest, or a sweater coordinated to your outfit, hosiery or socks with boots, flats (leather, suede, or fabric) or mid-heel shoes. Women may also wear jewelry, such as earrings that complement their overall outfit, at least. This category demands a pulled-together, harmonious, complete look with colors, fabrics, shoes, and accessories, for both men and women. [4]

THANK YOU vidopoker! That is too funny that wikipedia would have all that information. I was not too worried about attire but really was not interested in getting kicked out of MGM Detroit AGAIN! Hey, anyone reading this: IF you have any questions about anything whatsoever, need an email address or advice do not hesitate to PM SM, royal flush, Cashout, vidopoker, MFP, ED or Tedlark. I am doing this Wolfgang Puck thingy more for my husband and son. I will be relieved when that dinner is over and I am out of there with my mailed bonus! I know, fall off a horse and get back on even if it hurts! Contact faygo, vidopoker, MikeA, cd and ED for restaurant reviews, too. I cannot remember what I told my husband about why we have a free dinner coming. He probably thinks it's a b'day or Valentine's promo - what timing! If he knew the real story he would tell everyone we know or might know in the future about my faux pas #99. When I was first stopped entering the casino, I thought what a clever/perfect idea of someone to have a surprise b'day party for me at the casino! I quickly remembered no one knew I was going to be there.

Being 86ed by the casino's would sure save me a lot of money, exactly what does it take to get to be 86ed.

That's amusing pokeherguy. For starters, you could drive and park like a crazy/intoxicated person (even though I have a chauffeur's endorsement on my drivers license, take that faygo) in a deserted parking structure. Then wave an illegal water bottle in front of surveillance cameras before you hide it in a jacket pocket. Then hide a couple more items in the other pocket but be sure your hand conceals the yogurt and plastic spoon so it looks like you are trying to hide something sinister like a weapon of choice. I find trouble without even trying.

marie...

that was only PART of the information on the dress code. there was more but i just pasted the first part of it.

speaking of waving water bottles... when i was in college, i went with some roommates and friends to magic mountain. (six flags theme park here just north of la). anyway, we went to the car b/c some of the people got wet on a ride and while i waiting for them outside the car, i was tossing around an empty water bottle i had. within 2 minutes, security guards rushed over and demanded to search the car b/c they claimed they thought we had alcohol. how me tossing the water bottle led them to that conclusion i will never know (they told us the water bowl throwing tipped them off). when i told him no to searching the car, he told us that if we gave him any attitude, we would be thrown out. he also said, " i don't like you very much."

what is with these security people, water bottles, and their big heads! argh!

Vido, I ahhh, work for a world famous, errr, ummm, mouse about an hour or so south of y'all and I can tell you first hand that them fellas at Six Flags ain't much different than what we got here in Anaheim. From world class surveillance to top notch K-9 units, they're all here except our staff of security folks are mostly older than most security folk. I didn't say they can't do the job but I don't expect them to go running after someone either. I've seen firsthand, folks get 86'ed for the stupidest reasons and you often get a pair of matching bracelets if you decide to give them attitude. Best to just accept your lumps and leave on your own.
