las vegas tough luck

Post by royal flush »

harrahs bonds trading at 7c on the dollar as harrahs likely to file ch 11 when they went private equity they wanted to sell off a couple of properties and the market crashed. i am using up comps at harrahs and playing at places like palms with 100%+ games as harrahs will likely be gone and hosts will take lists and go to better places so diamond and 7* will be worthless

Some have always predicted that Vegas would be a ghost town someday, but the reason was lack of water and not lack of money. It may be a while yet, but can you imagine some of the large casinos on the Strip closed down ?

The casino's revenues have fallen back to 2003 levels. If you think about it Vegas was doing quite well at that time. So, I don't think we will see a ghost town any time soon. However, all the building over the last 5 years means those revenues are spread too thin. A few casios will go bankrupt.

that revenue figure was for fewer properties as harrahs greatly expanded i feel they will file ch 11 and then go 7 and properties will be liquidated. i feel like the rest of america las vegas will go back to basics. this could mean less expensive rooms shows food getting people out there and the only profit center being gambling. i also think the paytables for vp will greatly improve short run with many promotions making games even better. this will be as the "new las vegas" looks to reestablish their players lists. for all of our sake lets hope so

Royal I would love to see your dream happen where we can find decent paytables to play.  I play most of the time at a Harrahs property here in the midwest so it is difficult to think of it being gone.  I hope that is not the case.

Now because of my job I am in Vegas 4 days a week, and I listen to whats going on there with regards to who is selling and buying what properties.  I will keep you all posted on what I hear if you don't find out about it before I can get to the forum.  Also I will be there on vacation with my other half the second week of march and will let  you all know how it went.  Really not gonna play a lot as my wife wants just to get away for a while, see a couple shows and I am gonna try to get in a couple rounds of golf too.  Looking forward to getting away from the house and everything.

I stopped by Eastside Cannery today and noticed some machines with better paytables for 9-6JOB/8-5BP/9-5SDB/USA/WHA/9-7TDB/BDW. All the returns except for BP are over 99.5%. On triple point days these machines machines are all positive expectation. Denoms go from .25 - $2.

None of these are listed on vpfree yet. They are in a bank of machines straight down past the 100% machines which are .25 denom.
