We're in Missouri and in the deep freeze...4... when we got up this morning and dropping to a record 8 below tonight...The snow is pretty but this cold is a killer..We're having fun watching the birds on our 4 feeders and throwing out bread to the crows.  Where do you stay in sin world?  We're doing two nights at RR and two at GVR.  Going to the M for dinner one night as I have $75 in free play and two free buffets...We love their buffet...We fly on Allegiant which is a non stop flight...Pretty slick and not too expensive.  Have fun and if you see a Midwest granny hunkered over a machine it just might be me....Hubby doesn't play so he'll be off taking flying lessons...Have a safe trip.  I never worry about the cold in Vegas..I never get outside that much...

kjohn & marie,

Have a great time in Vegas. Good luck and hit some RF & AWAKS for the rest of us who are unable to make the RR run for a while. Get back to us when you return.

TY LL! Sorry you're sick, kjohn, and canceled your Vegas trip! Think of all that $ you probably saved for the next trip! I sadly posted under farmer1's Vegas trip report. The Bellagio conservatory changes four times a year to the tune of millions of $$$. "2010 Chinese New Year" opened there Jan 10 and is sensational. For a cool pix, log on Bellagio Conservatory and Botanical Gardens. The gigantic, realistic-looking, leaping tiger figure on the right does not show up in the pix. There are countless red hanging Chinese lanterns, pagoda, a giant folk figure representing prosperity and giant embossed brass colored coins with square centers representing century old coins, approx quarter size. These coins are still found on wicker type sewing baskets that once housed tea for export. There are so many of those coins that they do not have significant value expected for their age. Gorgeous red floral arrangements are everywhere! The most amazing abstract sculpture by Henry Moore, English artist, d 1985, is at exterior of ARIA, outside, "set in a quiet alcove". "Reclining Connected Forms", 1969-1974 is of a baby wrapped in mom's arms. 10.17 X 17" 7.70' h. in bulbous beige-cream marble. We had just arrived at Paris when the Bellagio fountain began to Sinatra's LUCK BE A LADY. Nice welcome! Cabbies can be creative when seeking better tips. One said he had not had a fare for over two hours and business was really slow! My husband fell for that! Another mentioned the construction nearing completion of a huge hotel and casino near Circus-Circus ceased when ten banks pulled out! I sighted Elvis twice! Young "Candy Apple" showed up at the entrance to Palms to meet others for the first time, including a man with a brief case, about noonish. She wore a winter coat over a strapless dress. It's possible that none of her party were connected with Palms casino.

MARIE WE WRE TOLD BY A CABBIE THE ADULT FILM STAR CONCENTION WAS GOING IN AT THE PALMS.   Farmer, you'll be glad to know adultcon was last weekend. (coincided with the CES for some reason) I did read that there were some activities at the Palms due to the fact that theres a Playboy Club in there. Reading the "news" section of the Las Vegas Advisor or the LV Review-Journal will give you a heads up on daily goings on in LV and Clark County in general.

We also plan a nice little trip to Vegas. It will be our first one ... We are just a little bit excited because the travelogues we read sounded really nice. Also the experiences presented in this thread sound quite interesting.Just saving a bit money for playing poker ... which is so called very expensive there but does not matter. We will enjoy our little trip.
