I have played at Video Poker for a few years, then more seriously when I came across Bob Dancer's original VP training progam.
Yesterday, we decided to drive down into OK to a Indian Casino there. It has been advertised as a "Bingo Casino". Not knowing what that was, we decided to go check it out. I really didn't want to play Bingo, but thought it might be interesting.
There wasn't many vp machines, mostly slots, but they all had bingo games on them. We did find one room that had JOB 9/6. My question is, does anyone know the significance of the bingo game on the machine? Does it change the way it pays or what? Sorry to be such a dunce, but I just couldn't bring myself to ask anyone there. But we did play for 4 hours and came out about $50 ahead, (.25). Thanks, for any info.

Mylila, that "Bingo Casino" sounds a lot like KAW in Newkirk. I know that KAW has quarter 9/6 JOB that is tied to Bingo. I saw one of the machines that defined what Bingo "patterns" resulted in various Poker winning hands. It's like horizontal lines make one hand, the four corners make another and variations result in yet other poker hands. My understanding is that the result of "Draws" on the poker screen are determined by how letters fall on the Bingo Game. Poker hands are just a way the machines display those Bingo Results.
Although I've never seen it myself, I have heard stories about people who made mistakes and discarded one card of a dealt quad and still got paid for the quad though of course, the resulting "draw" resulted in trips or a full house. The thing is, the Bingo results have to come first and then the machine has to display according to what it's already determined from the Bingo game. This means that not only do you have to get lucky on the Bingo Game, but you also have to discard or hold cards to achieve the hand that Bingo determined you might get! Example, what would happen if you had two FACES and 4 Spades. If bingo determined that you should get 4 FACES, you would have to have held the two faces and not drawn one card for a flush. If you held the wrong way, I think you would lose even though Bingo determined that you should have won!
Now, as to how much like RNG driven Poker Machines go...I couldn't tell you.

It sounds like you are talking about VLT devices (or Class II machines). The results of these machines are determined when you press "deal". Your holds are meaningless as the machine will adjust to payout whatever has been predetermined at a central computer (you're basically playing electronic bingo against the other players).
