Where to play?

Post by GrannyJ »

We are planning a trip to Vegas in March.  Usually stay at the Nugget.  I am wondering if anyone has had any luck at Main Street Station.

MSS is the favorite of many players who frequent the Downtown area.  They have a good selection of full-pay machines.  The first colum is <$.25.  The chart is wrong on that.  MSS does have ONE (and only one!) nickel full-pay DDB (10/6).  The next columns left to right are $.25, $.50, $1 and finally >$1.

I like MSS except for the fact that it is sort of off the beaten path (meaning that it is not on Fremont St.  The best (and safest at night) way to get there is to go through the Las Vegas Club to the rear exit which puts you outside at the intersection of Ogden and Main Streets.  Cross that intersection and enter the California Club.  Take the escalator to the second floor which will take you through some shops and then to a "skywalk" across Main Street directly into Main Street Station.

Do be sure to have someone assist you in entering the Men's restroom when it's empty (or not depending on how brazen you might be ) and take a look at the section of the Berlin Wall they've encorporated into the decor of the Men's Room!  It is not Verbotten to do this.  They are used to women wanting to check it out!

Here is a link to the complete "scouting report".

There's a great resource available to VP players. It's the Yahoo forum called VPFree. A casino index of games is available to help you determine where you can find games that interest you. It's at:

http://members.cox.net/vpfree/LV.htm

There are also listings for casinos all over the country.

SM,
Weird.  The main Yahoo vpFree site is http://www.videopoker.com/ yet the link they use to house the data base is on a COX server.

By the way, that Yahoo Group is free to join.  Lots of good information available both in the Data Bases such as those both Shadowman and I have referenced, and also in the Forums.  They have a forum for most of the popular states where casinos are located and in those that have someone volunteering as a "Casino Monitor", the current state of machines in those casinos is kept up to date.

Sadly, those in Kansas City (where I do a lot of play) are all short-pay
