Re: worst place to play?

FireKeepers smiled on me on my only trip there. I would love to return to see what happens on my second visit. Reasons I have yet to return: There are four great casinos much closer, the iffy weather, the abundance of deer and state troopers en route and no lodging on premises. Friendly machines, NICE place and great buffet.Little River has a lot to offer in comps, rooms, meals, decor and pool. They finally caved to TITO. Pay tables are rough, some machines are better than others, just like at all casinos. They hand pay $250. I could use more wins there. It's on our favorite loop of Northern Michigan Native American casinos when we welcome a comped room.I like Soaring Eagle but they do not believe in comped rooms or other lucrative offers that we have come to expect and receive elsewhere...they offer maybe a special rate of $80 comparable to motels in that area. I am thinking that perhaps their central location brings enough gamblers and they do not feel they have to entice people in their direction. People from that area who gamble at S E twice a week also complained about the lack of room offers.

Hi Marie, I am so happy to hear that Little River has TITO!  We went once and didn't stay since it was all coin.  UGH!  We too enjoy taking a trip making the casino rounds in Michigan.  We really like Odawa in Petoskey.  Four Winds is probably our favorite.  People have recommended Brimley to us, but seems like a long drive for a small casino.  We hear drinks are free there for gamblers.  Have you ever been?

Hi frog, We have never been to Brimley and cannot tell you about the drinks. Others enjoy it and it is really off the path for us. Nothing good happened to us at St Ignace and I did not care for the machines. They always offer nice, free rooms. The newish Odawa is very nice as is the nearby hotel and pool. Shuttles are available. We took a new car on a first road trip there. It was not my intent to leave the car unlocked overnight in a casino parking lot. Too bad my husband noticed my faux pas before I did! Fortunately, the car was fine.Okay, on my behalf, my husband took the shuttle to the hotel while I drove over later on and shlepped our luggage and snacks to our room. All the doors locked on our old car at once. This car has a safety feature of not all locking at the flip of a single lock button.

Thanks Marie.  Glad no bad outcomes with unlocked cars!

A "special" room offer arrived today from Soaring Eagle: $109. To me, a special offer is FREE or half price or somewhere in between. They should see the great offers we get frequently for casinos in Vegas, Michigan, AC, Reno and elsewhere and maybe they would rethink their special rates! Other offers, mostly free, are a whole lot less than the special Soaring Eagle offers and the amenities a lot better!

I agree, that is NO deal.  We have only played there a few times and never had any luck.  I heard from a "veteran" gambler that Soaring Eagle pays some kind of fine rather than payout what they are supposed to.  I don't know if that's true.  The casino is always very crowded when we have stopped in.  Wonder why?   To me it seemed old, kind of worn out and stinky.

Worst place is the Strip because you know great plays are literally minutes away.Foxwoods, PA, DE and WV suck too of course.

I`ve played video poker steadily for 30 years and I can safely say I have had my best luck and biggest winning days at Charles Town Races & Slots in West Virginia. If I listed my 10 best winning days I bet 8 are up there. I`ve heard the opposite from others but I wonder how much they`ve played there? Obviously ANY casino can be bad if you are just on one of those days (I`ve had them at CT) but over the long haul of dozens of trips I`d take my chances here than anywhere. Of course recently they re-did and ruined the video poker game I had most of my success on.
