Where to play $5 JOB

Post by mscarla »

Finding less and less machines in Vegas with 6/9 payout for JOB. Any suggestions for casinos with this at $5 level?

Assuming you mean 9/6 you can find it at the Hilton at $5 back by the Sportsbook. There are lots of 9/6 machines there in various denominations.

Also 10 play quarters at 9/6 if you would rather play more lines on a higher wager instead of a single line.

VP free has a list.  I notice some 9/6 $5 dollar JOB out there pay 239 ($1195) for a straight flush, reducing W2G's to the royal only if that is some interest. I'm sure there are some more knowledgeable players on the forum that can give you more inside scoops.

Most CET properties have 9/6 JoB at the $5 level. The tier point accrual rate is a poor $25/tier credit now though.

Dammit, I got suckered into posting a dead thread...ugh

VMan, I have heard rumors of changes to the Tier Credit earning rate on certain CET VP machines. They used to all be $10 = 1 TC. I am a 7Star, but I have not seen that documented anywhere. This is what the website says with regard to earning Tier Credits:
Slot Machines
Earn 1 Tier Credit for every $5.00 you play on a reel slot machine. Earn 1 Tier Credit for every $10.00 you play on a video poker machine.

Do you know where I can see any change to that documented?

BillyJoe, there are some machines that have a sticker on them that say it's $25/1 tier credit.  What was interesting those stickers were on some machines but not all.  I saw it in August at the Rio in the high limit area.  I didn't see any of those at Harrahs.

So the change to tiering might be coming.  I hope not.  CET has taken away so many 'perks' (ha) it's ridiculous.

Do you know where I can see any change to that documented? I don't know where it is documented --- but it is easy to observe. The machines register tier credits as you play. If you're playing a 5-coin $5 machine and your credits go up by 2 or 3 every time --- you're receiving 1 point per $10 coin-in. If it only goes up 1 credit each time, you're earning 1 tier credit per $25 coin-in.The $10 per credit is the default --- In the past I've sometimes seen stickers posted on the machines when that isn't the case. I don't know what the current stickers look like, if any, but if you check out the 9/6 JoB machines, you'll see what they look like. "Lesser" machines are still receiving points at the old rate.Bob

The stickers are there at Horseshoe Hammond now even. It is CET's intention to have high-limit machines that are "full pay" to receive reduced tier credits. The reason why you didn't see the stickers at Harrah's is because they do NOT offer any 99%+ VP. If the machines offer crap paytables to start, they won't reduce tier point accrual. And since billyjoe likes TDB and CET wouldn't dare offer 9/7 TDB in Vegas, this tier point reduction wouldn't likely affect him personally unless he possibly decides to move to 9/6 DDB, but that's impossible to find at CET properties in Vegas either according to vpFREE2. CET Vegas needs to have more balls with regard to video poker. Their offerings in Vegas are some of the worst nationwide.

The last time I was in AC, I played TDB 9/7 DoublePay on a Five Star Poker machine @ Caesars. No sticker.

Well, they may not have got around to changing AC yet. They didn't change Hammond until August. Also it's unlikely that a "Five Star Poker" unit will have reduced tier credits unless most games on there are 99%+. Also 9/7 TDB Double Pay is not necessarily >99% either unless the deal paytable looks like this.
Royal/SF/AWAK/2-4s + kicker/Aces/2-4s/5-Ks/FH/Flush/Str8/3K/2P/Js+/5s+
60000/2500/5000/2000/2000/500/250/100/50/30/20/10/5

This would make the game 99.22% and was the default paytables on the Wizard's calculator. If the dealt full house paid 200 for 5 instead then the game would be 98.50%.
