Non Smoking Video Poker in Vegas/Laughlin?

Post by OTABILL »

We like to play 0.25 DDB VP machines (preferably progressive). For some reason smokers seem to gravitate to adjacent machines. Does anyone know where in Vegas or Laughlin there are non-smoking areas worth visiting?

Otabill,

Welcome to the forum.

With age goes the memory but we recall playing in non-smoking areas at several locations in Laughlin. (2 years ago) I think Harrah's may have one area. Someone who is there on a regular basis will probably be able to respond with the exact locations. If not contact the casino's via their 800 number and ask.

Best Wishes,

LL

Hey, leave the smokers alone! The casinos are one of the few places we can still smoke..
Okay, I know the Orleans has some progressives (and I believe they are quarters) in their small non-smoking area. It's in the very back of the casino near the exit and past the buffet (and near the Western Union office).

Although I am a smoker, I do respect most others and try to get a machine where the air stream blows away from those who aren't. You can click on the link for more info as to what casinos have "non-smoking" areas.  http://www.lasvegasadvisor.com/nonsmoke.cfm  Good luck to you.

The Colorado Belle in Laughlin has non smoking on 2nd floor where the restaurants and gift shops are located.  It is a small area.  Sorry, did not play in that area because my husband is a smoker.

Red Rock has a section for non smokers at the entrance from the parking deck near the Race & Sports Book.  I also find that most high limit lounges have a few machines you can play at the $1 level and be left alone or play the hundred play at $0.25 one line at a time.In Reno, the Grand Sierra has a nice non-smoking area right off the main lobby.I have found courteous smokers like VP Master at the non-progressive machines, but just the opposite at the bars.  I don't mind the smoke unless in drifts over my machine and drink. Some people play during the week and after midnight to avoid the smoke.

Harrahs in Laughlin has a decent size non smoking area with a fair amount of VP machines. Its to the left of the hotel lobby as your walking into the casino. Theres a bunch of VP machines along the windows facing the river, including a few 50 play machines. Even though its a non smoking area you still get the smoke a bit, because the main through way from the hotel towers to the casino goes right through the non smoking area, and you got people smoking as they pass through there.

Thank you for your responses. They are much appreciated. We have no problem with the right of folks to smoke. Being allergic and sensitive to smoke we appreciate smokers like EDC who are understanding and considerate. We try to do the same for our friends who smoke as well. However,  it is hard to enjoy what should be a fun-filled time sitting next to someone who blows smoke in your direction or dangles a cigarette as close to you as possible. Thus we often find ourselves moving from our favorite VP machines. Finding a non-smoking area with acceptable VP machines solves the problem.

There used to be a non-smoking area in Laughlin's River Palms casino,
downstairs by the buffet. That's old information, as I haven't been
there in over a year.Near Albuquerque, a non smoking area is in the south end of the Sandia Casino. There are nickel and quarter VP machines in that area, as well as slots. So far as I can remember, none of the other casinos close to Albuquerque have non-smoking areas.

The last I remember, the non-smoking area was confined to the machines in the food court upstairs.
