Re: Casino Control over Payouts
Thanks for all of the posts. I was aware of the many points made about the variances of the game and I guess I am convinced even though it still appears that the games have changed. Between 1995 and 1998 I played regularly at the old Harrah's on 8/5 $1 machines and hit 23 royals during that stretch. Because of changes in my life I did not play regularly until two years ago and during that stretch I have been playing 9/6 machines and hit only one royal. I guess my luck changed drastically. To those who say they can't find games, I only play JOB games and Tunica Roadhouse has many 9/6 games ranging from 25cent to $5. Sam's Town has them from 25cent to $1. Check them out. It seems they always play better when busy. Oops, there goes my paranoia again.

I play better when I don't use my players card.
Ugg... your paranoia is rubbing off on me

I don't know if anyone will remember me bringing this up years ago about the royal flushes and Harrah's/Tunica but it's the same thing I was saying. The period of time he is refering to (95-98) was pre Harrah's when the casino was known as the Grand. Every single player I knew said the same thing, where did the royals go, it was like they vanished overnight. The Grand was packed with video poker players and there was many nights I couldn't get a machine, I knew a man and his wife that hit 42 together there in 98, I hit my share and saw them all the time. Then when Harrah's took over the casino and put in new poker machines the royals became a thing of the past. I still play Harrah's all the time because I hit everything else like crazy, but the truth is I've only hit 1 royal and saw 1 other hit at the $2 denom since Harrah's took over. I'm not really complaining just reporting what I see.
