Littile River Trip

Post by coldwater »

We just spent 3 days at the Little River in Manistee, Mi.  Had a great time, something happened that has never happened before, I was playing triple double bonus and hit 4 aces with kicker for 500.00 and had a hand pay!! I've won this much before and was always able to just cash out.....so that was different.  My husband also had a hand pay for 600.00! He was playing triple line, wasn't getting anything so backed down to 6 coins and was dealt 4 aces with kicker! go figure........ but we had a really good time, before we left I got the 4 2's, aces, and several 4 of a kinds, felt good to finally win something.......... just wanted to share.

This was a common occurance at Casino Windsor(mm can speak to what is the policy now). They even had the machines set so that any attempt to cash out over 500 of accumulated credits required a hand pay. I figured that was just their way to supplement the attendants wages.

coldwater, YOU did good at Little River to get good hits! One of our sons lived in that direction so we have been there way too often. Besides it's on our UP NORTH Native American casino hopping route/loop. I like that casino, decor, pool, atmosphere, food, comps. Pay tables and wins leave much to be desired, IMHO. They finally switched from coin to TITO. Last time there, I had hand pays of $250. We have discussed this on forum about tipping for the low hand pays and consensus of a few was not to tip or tip very little. I keep thinking that attendant is not going to be pleased if I do not tip and might take his sweet time about hand paying me on my next win. I think if I plan on playing for hours, I best tip. If I am about to leave and will not be needing him to hand pay again, I just might skip that tip.

We did casino hopping last summer.  Had a blast.... started out and went over the bridge and hit all the casinos............. About the tipping on hand pays, I did notice that I was paid in 100's except the last 100 was paid in 20's, 10's and 5's so that I could tip.  One other thing that really got me was I was playing a penny machine and went to cash out 13.00  and it said call attendent hand pay, the machine was playing music like I had hit a big one.............. how funny Every month we each get 2 free nights at little river plus 20.00 in free play  and we don't go there often as it is 4 hour drive for us........yet the Firekeepers which is 45 minutes away sends us nothing but a little free play and that is only if you go on Monday and Tuesday, after that you loose half of it.  Vegas must be hurting, we have only been to the M once and yesterday we got free rooms and free play $$, free rooms at the Gold Coast ( where we usually stay, it's close to where my mom lives) what the mailman must think

I am looking forward to the next contest....... I am a video poker junkie and can't afford to go to the casino! so it takes the edge off of wanting to go! not for long but for a little while...........

faygo, We just returned today from another fun sleep over at Windsor. That's only twice this week. We cannot afford all those free comps, rooms, meals, shows, bonus!!! Machines will print out $K TITO. A $4K hand pay in December required no ID or SS. They are giving out $45. mailed "tax bonus" at kiosk to "special gamblers" on Thursdays this month and $45 weekly or bi weekly to "select addicts".($10 for husbands who do not play VP very often)Pay tables for DDB and DW were not so hot so I played DWbonus and DB for a very long time for two days, making a few mistakes, I now realize. Hint: be proficient in several games so you have confidence to switch games when the pay tables dictate that to you! Expertise of four games should work for you, although B Dancer is now proficient in more than eight games.4000 attended SOUNDS OF MOTOWN at Caesar Windsor last night and we really enjoyed the performance. STOP in the NAME of LOVE, GRAPEVINE, BABY LOVE, "Supremes", "S Robinson", etc. One vocalist brought down the house with M Jackson moves including moon walk. (Instructions on how to do that can be found on line! Try it! I am not yet ready for prime time!) I am confident you would all like that show when it hits your area.

According to a nearby source, (aka roomie) Thursday, LVS (Las Vegas Sands), MGM-Mirage and Wynn stocks went up approximately 5%. This is because revenues are up 30%. This should be encouraging to many who care!

have never gambled at those casinos,  here is one for you.... my step dad has over 5,000 dollars in comp at the Hilton....... they won't let you use it for rooms anymore. can only be used for buffets or at the deli, he would get us rooms in the past, but not anymore,,,,,,,,,, who would ever be able to use that much $$$$$$$$$$ on food,

At Greektown casino recently, when I hit a $K for one hand, the machine spit out a TITO for that $K and kept the rest of my wins in the machine. Stupid machine - doesn't it realize I am PROBABLY going to HIDE that ticket in my purse so I do not play it back in!!!For once, that machine was in my favor on several levels.

Now Marie, tell me that you really left with the money when you cashed that $1K ticket..  BTW, I have played in several casinos, even a couple in Vegas, where machines will pay out a $1k ticket upon winning, and leave the remainder in the machine. I have also played VP machines at Mirage in Vegas that handpay $1K. I guess it is the way they are set up by the casino.
