Has anyone here been to the Venetian?

Discuss all things Las Vegas. Hotels, restaurants, good deals, airfares, cabbies, conventions, shows, etc.

Went to LV first of March. Stayed at TI but gambled at Venetian -- very successfully at Spin Poker!  Have received very good offers from Venetian for no more than I gamble there.  Met a couple who stayed at the new Palazzo (?) and said to definitely stay if I had the chance.  Side note - won a JP at TI on $5 VP !!!  Nice !

I played for 5 days at the Venetian 2 years ago and still get flyers for free rooms for multiple nights and the host still calls me! It was very nice and the restaurants were good too. Good drink service as well and lots of machines to choose from. The room was really nice as well.

Something tells me that the comps that the casinos offer are going to really escalate for the near future?  Why?  The high cost of flying or driving to casinos!  They are going to have to really turn up the heat in making it almost so attractive that people will be willing to pay the travel expense to get there! It wouldn't surprise me if they didn't comp something based on travel expense!  They just can't afford to have the casino floors empty!

Mike A.  Do you really think LV casinos will do that?  We are going to be at the Venetian for the "Phantom" show this Saturday night.  Staying at the Rio.  Funny thing. we will be sitting in the exact same seats we had in October, 2006.  I mean same section, row and seat numbers.  Pretty weird, huh?Have not played VP there, but love the restaurants.And.....Eduardo, you can sign up on line for email offers from The Venetian.

Yes.  I really do believe they will do that.  They get their share of high-rollers now via special chartered flights and other incentives.  But compared to the low-rollers, the numbers are NOT THERE.  They need "us" to fill up those penny slots and nickel and quarter machines. The High Rollers are not concerned about the rising costs of travel.  But the rest of us have to be concerned.  What's happening to the cost of airline tickets?  When they get expensive enough, most of us are going to say that before, the ticket out to Vegas didn't amount to that much.  But now it cuts too deeply into our budgets. The Casinos and Hotels are going to have to dangle some attractive carrots out there to entice us to spend the money to get there.  At least that is what my cracked crystal ball is telling me.

[QUOTE=ginxxxx] Staying at the Rio.                                                               LUCK and fun in Vegas! Walk carefully across Flamingo Blvd with signal lights and visit my lucky machines at PALMS! .25 and $1 DDB and DW including single, triple and five play and .25 loose deuces. They were generous with royals and aces! You can catch bus at Rio's back entrance, across parking lot from Gold Coast to Caesars and Harrahs and maybe Ballys.  Shuttle bus out side Gold Coast goes to Orleans or Bill's (formerly Barbary Coast, between Flamingo and Ballys). We can only hope for a glowing report of big wins when you return! Big Elvis, Pete Vallee, is fun to see if he is playing at Bills (3-5:00 & 6:30? which days?) or maybe Gold Coast, afternoons. THE BEST OF VEGAS 2006! His schedule might be in the Las Vegas REVIEW, daily paper, or an 8 1/2 x 11 sign on the front door or ask or call Bill's (or Gold Coast) for info.  Log on to Big Elvis Las Vegas for U tube videos but of course he's better in person! We really enjoyed seeing Penn and Teller at Rio and they are so accommodating for photo shoot and autographs after their performance, so have camera ready.
