Tunica Video Poker?

Well you talked me into it.  I'll be going in a couple of weeks staying at the Horseshoe but hope to have enough since to play elsewhere.  I will be looking for $1 progressive but won't be holding my breath.I go to Tunica maybe once or twice a month.  I've checked out the casinos and the best I've found are about 5-6 machines at Tunica Roadhouse.  You can play .25 to $1 I believe and like a poster said the payouts are:DW  99.96 payoutDDB 10/6, the only reason it's not over 100% payback is that the straight flush payout is only 40 instead of 50I think there are some progressives at Horseshoe and I know there are some at Gold Strike, for 3 play, but you have to get a RF on each hand, but the payout is primo.  that's a .25 machine I believe.

I think that it is close to the Horseshoe. I beleive it used to be the Ramada..

From left to right: Gold Strike, Horseshoe, Roadhouse.   All within easy walking distance (just a driveway between each).   Roadhouse was first called Sheraton Casino, even before they had a hotel.  Hope you guys win something when you go.Bob

Thanks, Bob. I was wrong about Ramada, it was the Sheraton. And I could certainly use some good gaming luck this trip - I have had an awful year.

Ah, the Roadhouse.  I fondly remember when it was the Sheraton and they had a really great VIP Host.  I loved the European, small intimate casino ambience of the place and, have to admit, always had great luck there.  Now Harrah's has taken it over, butchered the host system, and made the atmosphere completely ridiculous!  I guess it doesn't pay to get too fond to any casino - they're always changing.

Got murdered at the $1 progressive at the Horseshoe.  Then finally hit deuces for $2,000.
 
Then walked over to the roadhouse and had much more fun.  Hit several quads, Aces twice on some of the $1 slantops.  Much more play at the roadhouse fwiw.

Visited Tunica weekend of Feb 25 for 2 days. Stayed at Tunica Roadhouse. Very nice jacuzzi suites. Will stay there again. Slow drink service but friendly staff. Checked in in less that 5 minutes. (Eat elsewhere.) They had several dozen VP machines, many with 9/6 TDB. Most of the VP machines are located in an alcove to the left of the main entrance (as you go out). I saw one Ultimate X, one spin. Bars have VP but with much worse paytables and fewer game selections. Games at the bars are dirty with stuck buttons, and mostly need maintenance. Games in the alcove are clean and in good shape. Still, I hit one RF, 2 AWAK at TDB. Hit a lot of quads. All at quarters. Way more than payed for our entire trip, Buddy Guy Concert, and a new laptop. Dollars didn't hit for me. VP at Horseshoe and Goldstrike is harder to find, poorer payouts. Didn't play at any of the other casinos.

Welcome to forum, AAcmeblues and your very first post! Congrats on your hits! Thanks for the trip report. Friends are heading there soon and have asked me for advice. Buddy Guy puts on a great concert and we enjoyed seeing him in MI and VA!

I just returned yesterday from 3 days in Tunica, where I stayed at the Roadhouse also. I totally agree with you about the Jacuzzi rooms..deep, quiet and absolutely fabulous. I loved the vp at the far end bar, and cashed in many times. The Hollywood is a total disaster now. Any of the Bonus Poker machines are 150 coins for any 4 of a kind, and so many machines have been removed. Resorts was good but again, Harrah's Grand were totally disappointing. Dunkin Donuts was a save, though. I usually go to St. Louis, but we decided to hit Tunica again. I don't think I will go back. Sad.
