LV Gambling on the Travel Channel

Post by macaroo »

Did anybody catch the 2 one hours series on the Travel Channel last night?
The first had appearances of Bob Dancer and other well known professionals and had to do about Sucker Bets in the various casino games.  The second had to do about cheating in the casinos and the various and ingenious methods people will use to try to beat the house and their fellow gamblers.
A very intertaining and informative 2 hours.

The Travel Channel can sometimes be called the Vegas Channel.  I devour these shows while I count the days till my next trip out there in late October.  I love the coupon lady and the card counter-these people kill me.  Just once, though I would love to see a show about the myriad of casinos off the Strip that I admittedly have ignored over the years-some of these hole-in-the-wall places are pretty cool and you never hear about them.  Just the way the locals like it.

My son and son-in-law were actually 2 of the poker players at the Stratosphere on one of those shows .... they had to sign release forms to allow them to film.  We forgot all about it and one day we were flipping channels and I happened to catch them on screen ....

I'd like to see another Travel Channel casinos challenge with Anthony Curtis and members of his Las Vegas Advisor publication. The ones done before were fun and included v.p. sessions as part of the challenge. With the new V.p. games that have surfaced in recent years, would love to see what games might be played in the challenge.---CWA---

I saw our own Rob interviewed one time on one of those Travel Channel Vegas shows. He managed to come across pretty well -- didn't attack the interviewer or anything.

Rob knew that if he repeated his standard position on VP that it would never make the cut-room. He wanted his 15 seconds of fame.
