This site vs Casino play

Post by bignrich »

Hello all !!!  About two months ago I made the lucrative decision to move from table games to VP games.  I discovered this site on a google search and am ecstatic about it!!!  I have gotten quite good at Super Spin Poker Deluxe.  My question is:  is the play at VP machines in Las Vegas similar to this site?  If so, I'm gonna clean up (lol) in LV this summer.  Seriously though, is the play the same or at least close to the same?  I've developed a pretty good strategy with the aforementioned VP game and would like to try my luck this summer.  Thanks for the site and have a great play!!!

Before tackling real casinos it would be a good idea to understand VP as much as possible. The game is based on a random shuffle and, therefore, is describeable using basic mathematical techniques. When you hear others talk about the payback of a game they are referring to a mathematical average return for the given paytable using the best mathematical strategy.

There is NO strategy superior to the best mathematical strategy for long term success. Lot's of strategies may work in the short term (although even then the math strategies are usually the best) but will eventually fail.

If you've already done this work then you are ready to win in the casinos. If not, then I hope entertainment is your goal.

could you be a bit more specific in your description of mathematical strategies?  When I mentioned "strategy" I meant that I brought my table skills to the VP game and they pretty much work as far as hand combinations and holding.  Thanks.

As far as I know the RNG at this site is similar to casinos. Maybe the moderator can verify this. However, the games themselves are amoung the higher paying versions of each game. You will not find these paytables in every casino.

I should also mention that VP is quite a bit different than table card games. In most table games you mostly win or lose your bet. In VP you often win significantly more than your bet based on the the paytable. This leads to strategies that are much different than one might expect.

An extreme example would be game that pays back 100% of it's winnings for a royal flush and nothing for anything else. In this case you would never keep a dealt four of a kind, straight, flush, etc. You would always keep whatever cards give you the best chance of hitting the royal. While standard VP games are not this extreme the strategies are often not intuitive because of the pay tables. It takes a lot of practice to play perfect strategy for even the simplest game.

Finally, you should consider purchasing one of the software products that provide practice capabilities, strategies, etc. (Winpoker, FVP, VPfW, Optimum VP, VIPOKER (free), etc.) You can find them through google.

Awesome.  Thank you for the help.  I enjoy playing VP for now, but then again, I enjoyed table games for years, lol.  I'm going to continue to pursue my interest in VP.  Thanks for the help and hope to talk again soon.
