I was curious if anyone else has seen a big drop off in marketing offers from the Grand Victoria Indiana. In the past I've been offered anywhere from $5 to $50 in free play, along with free Sunday-Thursday or Sunday-Friday rooms, and discounted or free buffets. In June I had my largest session there ever, about 30% more than my former best with over $10,000 coin through, and the offers keep dropping. $10 in free play in August, now $5 in both September and October with only $5 off a full priced lunch or dinner buffet.I'm a little perturbed that after pushing that much coin through my offers are not even enough to cover my gas to get there.I believe they are usually a little behind in the mailers, probably because they have to be printed ahead of time, but this seems to be a little beyond that. They also have confirmed the sale to Full House Resorts, so perhaps that has something to do with it as well, either reflecting the new owners comp philosophy or their own attempt to reduce comps before the sale to increase their bottom line. Or they just hate me for some reason Anyone else seen drops in their comps of late? I'm just trying to figure out if this is a temporary situation or if this is how it is going to be from here on out, in which case I'll go to Belterra or Hollywood instead.

If you are playing a 99% game, your expected loss is $100. Just how many thousands of dollars do you expect them to cough up to pull you in?

I have seen a drop in comps at almost every casino. It does not seem to be play driven - just a poor economy. They have also cut back on staff signoficantly, and in my opinion, customer service is starting to suffer. The remaining people are working hard, there just is not enough of them to handle even the simplest requests.

I believe the casinos have gotten real tight on Video Poker player comps. I play $1.00 videop poker and my wife penny slots, she gets the free room offers, I do not. She also gets more free play then I do. I BET $5 to $10 a hit, she bets from $1.60 to $2.40 range. I get less points than she does on money bet. While it is the economy it also is VP players are treated much differently than even jus a couple years ago.

Paul,
I frequent Hollywood and Belterra, but always Hollywood over Grand Vic because of the extra 20 miles or so. I am not on GV's list.
My offer from Belterra for Oct is still "up to two nights weekly." They have always honored this (except I only do one night.) Also, they offer $30 cash three times a month. If you stay over the night between two $30 periods, you get $60. I plan to go this week, so will see if they come through. I did receive a letter saying I needed more points by Sept which I did not earn, so maybe they will not have any comp rooms when I call.
I go to Hollywood 2-3 times a month. I have never been turned down for a comp room when I ask. But for Oct, the brochure offered $69 rooms, not free rooms, so maybe there is a change. Haven't tried it yet this month.
I think we are spoiled by the Indiana casinos. On the other hand, in 2012 there will be competition from four new casinos in Ohio.
I find the overall player card system very confusing. They have intricate formulas for earning points, but the comp rooms flow as a separate benefit with no points deducted. Also, credit for blackjack seems to be iffy.
I'll repost if I experience any changes.

Paul,
Welcome to the forum.
Offers and rewards don't always seem to be consistent with Coin In. Usually our coin in/points are pretty consistent. We both play on one person's cards each trip to build up "Average Daily Play"-(comps/cash) and rotate between cards every other trip. But, I have noticed that my wife gets better casino offers - of course she is better looking and smarter.
At another casino I had several trips with huge coin in and no change in my offers.
But overall we are seeing a decline in casino quality in staffing, response times, buffet quality...as the economy has declined. I'm sure the pay tables that were lowered in December won't be moved back up when the economy improves and casino gross/profit improves.
Tonight (Saturday @ 7:30 pm) our daughter texted from one casino that 4 of the multi-hand 5¢ (6 machines) were empty, the Ultimate X (2) empty; Spin Poker (2) empty; 1/2 progressive RF empty; and most of the STP empty. I'm sure everyone is waiting for the 10/10/10 Specials.
