I just have one question, Rob. If you know how to detect these cycles, why are you not keeping that information to yourself? I think one could make a hell of a lot more $$$$ mining the thousands and thousands of v.p. machines that exist everywhere these days, as opposed to trying to sell literature for small change. Considering that we know how intelligent the casino operators and game manufacturers are, you can understand why your deemed to be a plausible source.

For the same reason I teach thousands of players my total play strategy free of charge: Few if any follow what I say because, like every long-term "advantage player" out there, they are so very addicted to the game that, after losing for years they get excited about coming to me - yet it's a miracle whenever I discover one like me who has the true motivation, determination, discipline, intelligence and bankroll to really pursue it as required. And I know most math people can't stomach accepting the truth simply because it would turn their entire video-poker-playing world upside down, and because the game is such a STRONG force in their otherwise uneventful lives since discovering the game, just prior to going insane thinking about it, they chill for self-preservation purposes.

Let me re-phrase the question. Why would IGT,Bally's, etc. leave their programming code intact if patterns can be detected and exploited. I don't recall the exact particulars of the Ivy league students who exploited the blackjack tables many years ago, but we all know that when it came to light, the operators made modifications to prevent it.

2 questions for Mr. Fa La La La La.... La la la la:

Do you get paid for your Gaming Today column or do you write it for free (to promote your website)?

Over the years, what game and what denomination have been most profitable for you? (I understand about advancing through the games and the denoms, but which game and which denom have you had the most success at?)

When I began writing my column for GT in Jan. 2001 I was offered a set amount/article and I declined, saying I was not like most of the others because I actually made my income on the vp machines. The other columnists, like mercy-hire Elliott Fromme, receive pay. and believe me, if you've ever read the stuff he writes or copies from his father's files, he needs it.

I believe I've had the most success at the $5 level. However, some people think of me as a "hi-roller" and I am not. I am most comfortable at the $2 level. $2 is also the level that I have hit the majority of my royals on. This past Mon. late at night I hit my first dollar royal (& 1st RF of 2007) in several years, and although it ended my session almost as soon as it started, it seemed less than it really was.

bigboy:  There is no threat of pattern-detection by the masses. Just look at the reaction here and esp. that of the shadow guy who wishes he were me. There's not a lot of believers no matter what's said, the math people--who by and large are the only ones smart enough to be able to detect the cycles as well as I can--want nothing to do with even thinking about it, and taking advantage of a cold cycle requires changing machines, something nearly impossible for the compulsive player who's getting beat up to be able to do. I stumbled across it by a chance meeting on a flight across the Pacific, I published my opinion about it, I was basically stopped cold from further publication after that, and I've spent my time learning to detect the cycles-which I've found to be unequovicably there. The cycles are by definition random in their own right, since when they appear--which is infrequently--is only determined by how the machine has performed in random mode.

Yep hot cycles are when a machine is paying.
Cold cycle is when a machine is not paying.
You have to blow thru hundreds of credits to figure this out! Ahhhha!!
Then all of a sudden the cycle changes. Ahhha again!!!!!
The only way to change the cycle manually is by rapping on the glass with your fingers every few hands or so and envision with your mind the cards you want on the draw and then verbalizing them as you hiy the draw button. Like if you hold 2 aces the say out loud as you hit draw " 2 more aces." Then cash out and head home.
I will be glad to meet with anyone that wants to learn this system. The naysayers will try to debuke me but they are hopeless addicts that play to satisfy their need to play millions  and billions of hands to hit a royal.
Got to go for now. Jives has just prepared a suculant lunch for myself and honored guest.

I think this little tidbit is all anyone needs to know. GT DOES NOT pay Fa La La La La.... La la la la and they DO pay their other columnists.

This is just the type of response from someone who obviously does not have the facts. Rob declined an offer of 20 million dollars to write a regular column for GT. He does not need payment for his literary prowess(I'm looking for the tounge-in-cheek emoticon,Webman).

Sorry I missed this chat at the moment it was posted in order to glean the most out of it. I was out washing my NINETY-ONE-THOUSAND-DOLLAR Corvette....paid for with vp winnings in 2006 of course    I do imagine our friend Elliott was either at work or out depositing his check from GT that I've refused for nearly 7 years because I win so much.

A Z06 Corvette tops out at EIGHTY-ONE-THOUSAND-DOLLARS, mark-ups have not existed on this car for over a year now. Why was this vehicle NINETY-ONE-THOUSAND-DOLLARS?
