This thread made me think of something *I* wanted to ask about - so, everyone who's already responded to "session" views has to do it again...
Who stays on one machine for a session, or moves around? I mean moving from machine to machine in a single bank. I prefer parking myself on one machine. That's because I don't see any benefit to moving, and it also does "tweak" me if I move to the next machine and see someone hit something big on the machine I was playing...not trying to start a discussion on "lucky" machines - all the machines in a bank with the same games and pay tables have to be running the same software. If I really feel the need to move, I'll go find something on the other side of the casino, play there for a while, and go back later.
What is your VP session like?

I just happen to be one of the players who does jump from machine to machine. I play $1 and $2 VP and if I lose $100 on a machine I move to the next one. Wrong or right it became a habit of mine. That also may explain why I have been married 3 times if she ain't treating me right I'm moving on I figure sooner or later I'll find the right one. I consider it to be a terrible night when I never hit quad anything ($250) and am out the door in around an hour with nothing but change in my pockets. A bad night is when a hit a few $250 quads and I play for a few hours and walk out with nothing but change in my pockets. A good night is when I am hitting $250 quads and maybe a couple of $600 quad 2's,3's or 4's and I play until I am ready to go and leave with close to what I came with, for some reason this type of night is the most rare for me. A very good night is when I am hitting a little of everything and it really appears that I actually know what I'm doing, these nights I play until I am ready to go and leave with a nice chunk of change. These type of nights make up for all the terrible and bad nights.

With one exception, I'll say that I stick with one machine. The exception is when I find a machine whose buttons stick or that don't register when you first hit them, or there's a glare on the screen or the screen is fuzzy! It has to be pretty slim pickin's for me to stay on a malfunctioning machine. Other than that though, I generally don't move around.

I play SA only which is a high var. game. I find playing short term, moving around works for me. Keeping a tally clicker with me and limiting to a certain count for how many master hands I play. Then at the end of an session I note any hits over 5-Ks. This data is kept in diary.

I like those nights too, but they're pretty rare. Here in CO the casinos close at 2 AM, and it's nice when you have a good run about midnight - simply not enough time to play it back in before they kick you out the door.

Who stays on one machine for a session, or moves around?
I do both. Since it doesn't matter I base moving on how I feel. When I'm only going to be in a casino for a couple of hours I usually stay at one machine. If I'm going to be there longer I typically move around, although I usually will move to another bank if possible. I find that moving around keeps me fresher and more alert. Finally, I will move for physical and environmental reasons. Sticky buttons, smoky, etc.

I move only for mechanical, environmental, or denomination reasons. If the machine has mechanical problems or someone sits down next to me and immediately farts, then I take it as a sign from God and I move. I also move when I am going up the denom ladder and need to move to a higher area. Some of my best casinos have all of my denoms on the same machine, but some don't. I also get up and go somewhere else when I need to make a serious bankroll decision. I never make these decisions in front of a flashing machine.

Farting does break the old concentration. I usually turn the tables and use it as an advantage. When someone loud or otherwise annoying sits close by and I am at a good machine I try real hard to let one go. Soon I see them cash out and move one. LOL
Caution must be used here cause straining can cause other problems!!!.
P.S. sometimes it works and sometimes it backfires. Just another gamble.

Better than farting is the trick that i saw someone pull a couple years ago. To get rid of a drunken pest who was stumbling around the machines in the row, this lady faked a violent coughing jag(spit and phelgm airborne). It worked(all of us cleared out of that row). It was definitely the nastiest thing i've seen in a casino.

Geez, I thought that asking about moving from machine to machine would lead to more polite conversation - "is this dinner talk?". Can we just go back to something nice like bashing R.S.?
I can beat you all on grossness - once had a drunk woman who was playing the machine next to me vomit all over my leg. *THAT* clears out a bank of machines PDQ.
