VP in BILOXI

Post by Sunnyvp09 »

Hi All,
Quick question for those who frequent Biloxi.  I just returned from a nice 4 day trip.  This is my 3 trip that my VP experience has been just terrible.  I play at Isle and IP and stick with DW and DDP.  I must be having a bad streak as hitting 4oaks is nonexistent.  I went 2 days, actual play about 8 hrs on the quarter machines in the Cove at IP and hit only 2 4oaks.  It wasn't much better in October or May.  Very, very few 4 oaks and you got to get them to keep playing. Is anyone else going through this or am I just having one of those streaks that I need to work through?
I know IP changed paytables on their 5 cent Triple/Five play machines, but I don't think they changed the 25 cent machines.  The other thing I noticed is I had no trouble getting a machine, very few people were playing. Maybe that's a clue.......
The Isle was a little better, but not much.
  Appreciate any input.

Well your playing at the two best casinos on the coast IMO.  But sometimes luck is a better factor.  I normally get smoked at all the casinos on the coast.  Then go to the Beau who has the worst paytables I have ever seen but have gotten dealt a Royal and dealt 22223 playing TDB to make it all back in one swoop.  So as the saying goes sometimes its better to be lucky than good.

fwiw, I have noticed my free play has been cut over the past couple of months.  I use to get $320 a week now I get about $90.

I'm in Biloxi right now and am having the same experience - no luck whatsoever on the vp machines.  I'm trying to control my losses at each casino I go to because I'll be here for a month renting a condo.  I'm ready to donate to those silly video machines everybody is playing - they seem to be everywhere.

VP will always be streaky. That is a function of the variance of the games. You need to hit low probability, high paying hands to win. If you do it's great, when you don't it's the pits.

I doubt the machines are anything but totally random. Actually, if you didn't see streaks that would be more unusual.

It's all totally random. The only things that change from one (regulated) casino to another (regulated) casino are paytables, atmosphere, parking, etc. If you win more at one casino than another, it's either luck or you're playing there more.

I hit the coast only about twice per year since the storm (have property there) and I prefer IP in Biloxi and Silver Slipper in west Hancock County. As spxChrome wrote, the Beau has the worst paytables ever --- worst I have ever seen, and I would never give them a dime, solely on principle. Anyone who plays there contributes to the Beau's sincere belief that there is a sucker born every minute.

I'd like to echo the sentiments of those experiencing slumps at video poker at the IP in Biloxi.

Not only did I have WAY less than stellar sessions on several machines, but some of the regulars were also complaining  of extremely meager playbacks  the last couple of weeks.  I know this comes with the territory when gambling, but enough is enough. Here's hoping things change quickly.

You can add my lack of good fortune to the list for Biloxi and New Orleans. We hit both areas over the holidays, and had little to show for it.
Under the heading of a near miss, I guess, I was playing a $5 slot with a $500k progressive jackpot (since I was going nowhere with VP) in New Orleans. The wife and I went to dinner, and when I returned, someone had won it.

The progressive slot was a $5 3-coin Monte Carlo Spin slot in High Limit. I think the progressive has now reset from $500k+ to $50k .

So I've checked VPfree for VP at IP, IOC, and Beau Rivage, since its been years since we were there.

In the matter of Beau Rivage: Our kids get free flights but we are driving over to play at BR to gain points to qualify for the flight packages.

1. Can anyone give specific games and denominations, pay tables for $1 and under denominations. Our preference would be 25¢/50¢ play.

2 Does it have 3/5 play 25/50 machines? What type of games?

3 What denominations for Spin Poker? games & sample of the pay tables?

4. Does it have lower denomination. 2.5, 10 50/100 multi-hand play machines with decent pay tables?

Any other advice for building up comp/offers?

LL
