January Vegas trip
I am so happy to read of the recent wins players have had at the Orleans. We head out to Vegas next week and will stay a few nights at the Orleans. (Haven't stayed here before but had free room offers so thought we'd check it out). We're planning to play Red Rock and Sams too. We'll play some at the Bellagio since we have comped rooms and free play, but always seem to do better off strip. So gang, any other places you recommend? We have never been to the Rio or Palms, thinking of trying those places too. Thanks. I always appreciate the sage advice from forum members.

Unless you are WebMan , VP is pretty good at the Palms.
Also, you may want to check out the new kid on the strip, The Cosmopolitan. I hear the casino is really something to see, which probably means tough to win at. I'll be in Vegas over Super Bowl weekend (a tradition), and plan to take a look at it myself.

Nice meeting you at the gathering at the Palms. If you are going to the Cosmopolitan, try the buffet. I posted a description in another section. It's really something to see and try. There really isn't an abundance of video poker machines at the Cosmo - but there are a few.
Good luck.
And by the way, you looked good in your new hat. (wink, wink)

Thanks, Mightwin. We will be in Vegas over Super Bowl weekend, and plan to check out the Cosmo. And I'm bringing my hat. I wonder if WebMan is brave enough for a re-match while I am in town?

We highly recommend the Palms for great 100% VP.
BTW: Wish the same run of good luck we are having.

We tried Red Rock on your recommendation LL and it is now one of our favorites. We will definitely try the Palms too. Thanks for the good luck wishes, can always use that.

I killed 30 mins playing there with Faith2win and managed to recoup $200 of my losses. I'm not going to make any presumptions except that there's a good variety of vp there including 100% games

I have been going to Vegas since 1968 ehrn I turned 21. The changes, good or bad, have been so overwhelming that I hardly recognize the strip anymore, but some of the new casinos have been a welcome change. Luckily, this last trip just completed 2 days ago, I found a landmark that my Mother, brother and I used to love to go to. It is the Peppermill Restaurant, right on the strip. If anyone is going, they have the BEST Hot Fudge Sundaes in the world. Served in a frozen schooner, it takes 2 people to eat, but it was a wonderful treat to still see it. My brother and I clinked spoons in a toast to my Mom who passed away 2 years ago. It is located next to the Old Sands Casino (I think it was the Sands) that is now a vacant lot. Great food and a great change to Casino food. Spoons up to anyone who tries this place!
