I'll be in Downtown Miami in a few weeks. Any recommendations on which casino to visit for VP and how far from downtown they are?

Finding a good casino in Florida is tough. Finding good VP in a casino in Florida is virtually impossible. The only casino that I have been to in South Florida, and it was several years ago, was in Hollywood Florida, near Ft Lauderdale. It is a Hard Rock Seminole, noteworthy as the place Anna Nicole Smith died a few years ago. There may be some casinos closer to Miami, though. The Seminole Hard Rock up in Tampa, closer to me, has little multi-line VP, mostly single line with minimum game selections (ie no TDB).
Good luck...

Calder Race Track in North Miami has recently opened up. I haven't been there yet, so can't comment. Nothing really in Miami-Dade. You can go to the Mardi Gras which is in Hallandale. Part of the Dog Track. Gulfstream Park has a casino that is down the street. I have found staff really rude there. If you go further north, there's the Isle which is part of Isle of Capri casinos. Also, there is a Seminole Casino in Coconut Creek. I believe that there are also casinos run by the Indians in S. Miami, but I'm not sure if it's gambling or just bingo. Good luck!

What about something close to key biscayne? There is a listing for a Miami Star Casino and Casino Princesa Ticket Booth but I can't find out anything else about them.
If those are a no go it looks like the Magic City Casino maybe close?
The Seminole Casino are there two because one looks like it is in Hollywood, FL which is about 30 miles north of Miami?

I don't know about anything near Key Biscayne. I live in Broward, north of Miami. I think the Miami Star and Casino Princesa are boats that go out of Miami. I've never heard of Magic City. Calder Race Course is on the top of Miami-Dade County. There are 2 Seminole Casinos - Hollywood is about 15 mi N of Miami and Coconut Creek is about 30 mi N of Miami. Hope that helps.

I have been to Hard Rock in Hollywood. It's physically very nice. It has Video Poker, including 3 and 5 Play, Super Times Pay, Spin Poker and Ultimate X. It also has little hands that reach out from the machines and empty your wallet so fast, that you can't imagine how it went that fast. Be careful!!!

stephmo, Show me a casino that has machines without those little hands and I will go there in a heart beat! I know those little hands well and they seem to anticipate which casino I will be visiting next! It's downright eerie!

Do they have anything else at the hollywood casino? Bar with live bands? One group going don't gamble but they will sit at the bar and drink all night.

There are bars, and places to hang out. They also have a decent steakhouse. I don't know about the live music.
