edog,
You may want to check out the link:
We've used the public transportation to stay off strip. It may or may not meet your needs. We were OK with it, cheaper than taxi but others have not been satisfied. We even felt comfortable with our girls taking the bus during the day time.
You can even take the "deuce" to the downtown area.

And whatever you do don't play at the Excaliber or Luxor.
Can you elaborate on this? Are you referring to VP? I've won a lot of money at both of these casinos.

Yes I am talking VP. And its just a personal expierence so take it for what its worth. But I have been to both and have pumped thousands of dollars through the machines with nothing on each occasion. And I find the Excaliber to be very trashy and the Luxor to be self absorbed. Just my .02 I am sure they have made other people millionaires.
Funny how things go. We played at Excaliber a little in December and came out about even. It definitely has seen better days and definitely needs a "facelift". Had the worst results at Red Rock. My wife, who has gone to Vegas since the 1960's, commented she had never experienced such miserable hands playing VP at any other casino there. Ditto for me. 3 four of a kinds no Royals between us in about 6 hours play each. We found the Palms and South Coast much better.
