My advice is play in Lake Charles; I've played Coushatta several times and have NEVER had any luck. I have hit several good pots at Isle of Capri (both boats) and du Lac.

I quit going to Coushatta also after they took out the coin operated video poker and went to tickets. I have had bad luck there since.  Now I play at LDL its $1 video poker is pretty good.

Jack,
I have found the best play/highest odds for 25ç at Isle of Capri. (Check Deuces Wild and high Dbl. Dbl. quarters. Both ICLC and Lauberge Du Lac (LDL) for $1 in Lake Charles. ICLC has fewer machines and the table vary from machines so be careful. Also try the separate VP room at ICLC on the second boat.

VPLarry................isle of capri was great the beggining of last year, played an average of four time a week, the ten coin quarter machines would give good playbacks, something changed the latter part of o6, couldnt buy a jackpot, and played quarters, fifty cents and the multi hand machines, now i play at ldl and most of the dedicated poker players seem to be there, ldl is not as loose as the isle of capri was, however sometimes youi can play longer...........last year at the isle between me an the wife had a total of 110,080. in taxables, ldl, 4000.00. i do hate that whutever happened did at the isle. even the comps dropped, at the isle as asked about my select card membership being raised and basically was told that i played to much which made my average lower... monies played........................

Played 1 credit $1 and hit a royal - best hand I've had there in years.  The used to have the Double Pay VP but I guess they lost too much money in it and it disappeared.

Big casino - but tight IMO...

The last two trips to lake charles i always stay at lauberge great rooms great food, solid comps but there machines slots are the worst vp is fair.4 weeks ago i was down 1700 or so on a friday night at lauberge. So over to isle on saturday late morning. Played  vp on the boat on the left as you come up the escalator. bottom floor of the boat at the bar 25c 50c 1dollar vp. started at 25c for about a half hour turned 80 dollars in into 140. then went to 50c and about 15 minutes was up to 230 dollars or so. Then I swithced to 1 dollar and hit quads 6 times. By 4pm i had the machine up to 2260 dollars. that night went back to lauberge and lost about 600 in no time on there vp. Same story sunday morning back to the isle. 1100 hundred later me and my wife went home very happy. This has happen twice to me lose at lauberge and get bailed out at the isle. I am going this weeken iwill stay at the lauberge at play at the isle. By the way i was playing double double bonus poker

well went over to la last saturday stayed at lauberge.played vp then went to the isle and played vp on saturday no luck. machines were cold. Sunday morning played vp at lauberge and did ok hit a royal at double double poker 25cents. Hit quads 4 times. wife hit quads a few times. Machine as a hole were very soft. Then I moved up to the dollar vp and could not hit a thing.WE live in texas and take the 5 hour drive about 7/8 times a year to lake charles la. On the way home my wife and I talked about playing in la. We are going to just go to vegas 2/3 times a year and play there. State of la needs to change the payouts for slots and vp poker. They just rape the players. I am  just tired of not having a chance in that state on there machines. at least in vegas you have your choice of lots of casinos and lots of other things to do. So alittle advice if you a serious about trying to win a little money stay away from la.

Looking over the vpfree database it appears there are not many good games in LA.

I didn't look up the CashBack ratings but NSUD appears to be the best play with a few full pay JOB. You're probably right about going to LV if and only if you avoid the strip.
