Aria Casino

Post by carl_vegas »

As a local to Las Vegas, I don't get down to the Strip that often.  But, I met some family down at the Aria Hotel and Casino last weekend.  It is beautiful, and the casino is great.  They have a wide variety of games, and the casino is well configured.  I actually walked out of there with $600 more than I went in with, which is a plus. Its a little pricey to stay there, but I'd recommend it.

Yes I agree its a great casino with great games.  Saw the Elvis show there but did not get to play much so can't comment on the games.  But the casino in itself is in a leauge of its own.

Well, Carl, you must have been in a different Aria casino than the one that I visited. I like to play multi-line VP with TDB. I found NOTHING in Aria.
I will be back to Vegas in March, and will take another look. Maybe they added some stuff since I was there last.

I'd be wary of the Aria, especial if they send you offers. They have sent special offers to several people I know and then declined them after they played. I would currently classify them as, "Bad Sports".~Frank Kneeland, Author of The Secret World of Video Poker Progressives--A History and How-To of Video Poker Slot Teams in Las Vegas.  And co-host of the Radio Show--Gambling with an Edge--with Bob Dancer. I had this happen to me a short time ago with NY/NY, another MGM property. I live in FLA, and when I called to use an offer, the VP of Player Development  (?) told me that I did not have enough play there to support this offer. I said "Isn't that the reason that you sent me the offer, to get me to come to YOUR casino to play". She said that the offer said that it could be rescinded at any time. I asked her how that Player Development thing was working for her, and then asked her if she had a window in her office that overlooked the strip. I suggested that she may consider looking out the window to see that there were other places to come and play other than her property.

On our Sept 2010 trip to Las Vegas, Aria declined to honor our offer as well.  Upon checkout, we were charged for the "comp" room.  Host said since we were from Arkansas we just didn't understand  how Las Vegas works!  I wrote to "player development" about this issue, expecting to be credited for the room expense and maybe a nice offer to return.  Here is short version of Aria's answer:"We regret the level of service you received from a Casino Host and
members of our staff.
This is certainly not indicative of the high quality of customer service
and standards we strive to provide.   Rest assured your
comments have been forwarded to the appropriate department heads in an effort
to make improvements for the future.

Once again, Mr. and Mrs.
Edwards, please accept our apologies.  We value your patronage and hope for a
future opportunity to welcome you back to ARIA.

Well, I just got an Aria EMail offer. The fine print says that it is based on previous play, and that additional comps may be available based on play during the stay. It also says, however, that the offer can be changed or withdrawn at any time (like when you check out ?)
Do you think I should trust them?

Just got off the phone with Beau Rivage (Biloxi) host about an upcoming trip in April there.  Host said "we will comp your stay".  She did not say "based on previous play" or "we have the right to rescind offer at any time". The  host said, "we will comp your stay"...period.Isn't Beau Rivage part of the same group as Aria?  Of course, being from Arkansas, I don't understand how Las Vegas works.Baldybob

Appreciate the heads up regarding Aria as we keep getting offers from them.

Bob, while I realize this occurred some time ago, I would contact the Vegas Better Business Bureau and the Nevada Gaming Commision especially if you have documentation. Changing an offer at check out that was apparently mutually agreed upon at check-in is wrong. Not sure if the BBB or Gaming Commission can do anything for you, but it is worth a shot.
