I know that nobody will believe this story but here goes. I have been to Las Vegas many times with my wife and we never played anything. We just go for the food, shopping and to get away.
This time I went to Vegas with a couple friends so I tryed Video Poker and was hooked. I lost about $100 on that trip. When I got back home I started doing some research online and read a few Video Poker books. I even bought a practice program to play on the computer.
I went to Vegas again in Nov. and was down about $200 on VP. I walked across the street to The Plaza and threw in $20 after about 5 minutes I hit a Royal Flush. I couldnt believe it. $1000.
My next trip in January I was playing at Main Street for about 2 hours and hit the Royal Flush again playing Treasure Chest. I couldnt believe it 2 for 2.
I had my cousin visiting from another Country so we took him to Vegas at the end of March. We took him to see the aquarium at Mandalay Bay. They had some deal if you buy the aquarium ticket together with the buffet so we got that package. After the Aquarium we walked over to the buffet but it was not open yet so I played a little VP to kill 30 minutes. After dropping my second $20 bill in the Game Maker I hit the Royal flush again! I did it again 3 for 3!
I know that this sounds too good to be true but it really happened. I must have been lucky. I should really quit now.
Royal Flush 3 times

I belive you.....one time at the Argosy in Indiana...I was playing video poker on a game king machine with multi poker games.....hit the royal...the couple next to me ... I guess were happy for me...but then they moved over to the next machine...I played a little longer on the same machine then decided to move over on their machine...wouldn't you know it, I hit another royal on their machine...I think they were a little sick....that was two royals in a matter of an hour.....my husband doesn't gamble, but when he came to see how I was doing, he almost fainted.

Beginner's Luck. It happens all the time in VP. The Gamblin Gods want to drive the hook in deep, before they reel you in! All kidding aside, congrats.

When Harrahs owned what is now Resports East Chicago Indiana I used to play triple play DDB in the basement and I hit 2 royals on the same machine on the same night. That was also back in the day when there was no TITO systems so you had to lug the buckets to the cashiers cage.

Yes, you have been very lucky. However, as already mentioned this is not unusual. I've had 3 RFs in a 24 hour period and 2 RFs in a day several times. I've also had streaks of 200,000 hands without any royals. They tend to even out over time.

2 Royals at the same casino back to back. 2 Royals at the same casino within 90 minutes, same machine. 2 Royals within 4 hours at 2 different casinos. It happens. Also, had 0 Royals same day, same week, same month, same casino, different casino. It happens.

That's interesting. When I wrote how I played 3 sessions and hit a 50c, a $2 and a $10 royal within 24 hours I had to submit the 3 W2G's to my publisher because so many of you ("you" being readers, etc.) wrote/called in saying I'm full of it. Then when GT contacted the doubters they came back saying I probably made the documents on my computer and tricked them. Like I say many times over: Winners like to see others win. Losers do not.
Saying things tend to "even out over time" is erroneous and misleading. You're not in a controlled classroom when you're at a machine. You play to win money not to hit royals, and if you play correctly you never need a royal to win money over any amount of time.

Hit 4 Royals at Harrahs a year ago in 24 hours. Three were in a one hour period. It was on three different single line quarter machines by the buffet and in the same area on the one I hit in the morning. My wife was playing in the same area and could't hit anything.
Went back to Harrahs this March and got killed. Didn't have enough so we went to the new casino in Chester, PA and the Mohican Sun in Wilkes-Barre to completely lose our bankroll.

[QUOTE=EdLyons]went to the new casino in Chester, PA
Aside from not having any luck; what did you think of Harrah's Chester? Did you see any decent paytables on video poker? Just curious as i am passing through the vicinity pretty soon.

So, Rob, you're saying that results will not average out over time. You're stating that you can control the the outcome of random events. This is equivalent to saying you can flip more heads than tails with an honest coin. Not only that, you can teach others to flip more heads so that eventually evreyone would be controlling the outcome of random events. I think it's time to apply good old common sense once again.
Add to that the statement that royals aren't needed to make money over "any amount of time" should make any sensible person suspicious.
