Re: Venetian Comps
Billyjoe, I got a similar offer out of the blue last year. Despite a fair amount of play on that trip, they now want me to pay at least $109 a night for the "privilege" of returning. No thanks.

Yeah, Tom, I was afraid that they may be doing kind of a "bait and switch". Tease you in with the offer, but then when you check out, say that your play didn't support the offer. Or did they actually honor your original offer, and then tell you you needed to pay on the next trip?
I am NOIR at MGM and Seven Star at Caesars/Harrah's, so I really don't care for myself. Was thinking of maybe putting some relatives up there on a family trip, though, if the offer was legit.

Never been myself. One of the few Harrah's properties that I have not been at. I understand Rincon is quite a ways from San Diego.

Billy, yes, they honored my original offer (except for small billing snafu at checkout where they tried to charge me for minibar usage), but ever since have been sending "discount" offers of $109-139 a night along with lame 20-30% off coupons. Funny, the offers started at the higher price range and have been gradually ratcheting down to the $109 rate I just received. Guess the smart gamblers aren't biting at their bogus generosity

Snowtop, I visited Rincon for New Year's Eve this year. It's a small property but the casino is nice enough and has full pay JOB in the back area. Can get a bit smoky, though.

Thanks for the feedback, Tom. When in Vegas, I do not have any room needs for myself, of course, but if I show up with a gaggle of relatives, sometimes the casino gets a little 'antsy' about putting everyone up as comped. It is good to know that, if needed, I can use one of my current Venetian offers to park someone for a couple of free nights. I would anticipate, of course, the same treatment going forward then - just reduced rates.

Billy, yep, that's all you should expect -- although you'd think they'd want to keep someone like you around a while!

You know, Tom, sometimes I wonder if the casino industry HAS any kind of a strategy. I do know, though, that they all seem to have a lot of VPs and GMs, most of whom are afraid to make a decision.

Hello VP -- Harrahs is about thirty miles from San Diego. It is about sixty to Anahiem.Fortunately we live within a sixty mile radius of five casinos: Pechanga, Pala,Pauma,Harrahs and Valley View.We have to or three FREE nights at Pala and Harrahs. So we go once a month and make the grand tour.
